The Jets will host the Broncos on Thursday Night Football, in a relatively gross matchup of 0-3 teams. But that doesn’t mean we don’t have betting angles. While I’m not picking a side in this one, I think there are some solid plays in the player props section on DraftKings Sportsbook. Here are some bets that jump out prior to kickoff.

Denver Broncos at New York Jets
Matchups — Player to have Most Passing Yards: Sam Darnold (-129) > Brett Rypien
I’ll be honest, I don’t completely know who Brett Rypien is. But I do know that the Broncos are missing several key pieces on offense, and have looked awful this season. Sam Darnold has been a dumpster fire so far as well, but he’s at least attempting 32 passes per game. Darnold should have his top weapon back in Jamison Crowder, who went for 115 yards when he last played in Week 1. Crowder should be the mismatch Darnold targets against a completely run down Denver secondary. The Broncos rank 29th in the NFL, allowing 277.7 passing yards per game.
Editor’s Note: Jets WR Jamison Crowder is active for tonight’s game vs. the Broncos.
Melvin Gordon Rushing Yards: OVER 65.5 (-112)
With Phillip Lindsay expected to remain sidelined with a toe injury, the bulk of the backfield work will belong to Gordon once again. It’s tough to imagine the Broncos leaning too much on Rypien to air the ball out, and the matchup dictates running, anyway. The Jets rank just 24th in the NFL, allowing 133 rushing yards per game. The only reason Gordon saw just eight carries last week was the game script, going down big to Tampa. In the two previous games — both of which were competitive — Gordon posted 15-78-1 and 19-70-0 lines against the Titans and Steelers. With it unlikely either team pulls away big in this one, we can safely project a good workload in a favorable matchup.
Editor’s Note: Broncos RB Phillip Lindsay is inactive for tonight’s game vs. the Jets.

Frank Gore Rushing Yards: OVER 53.5 (-112)
Frank Gore Rushing Attempts: OVER 15.5 (+100)
I like backing the Darnold matchup bet more than Gore, but we can’t ignore that this dude is still producing in 2020. Denver’s had a solid rush defense so far, but the game script here sets up for a tight one, keeping Gore’s workload safe. In the two starts Gore’s received after Le’Veon Bell went down, Gore carried 21 times for 63 yards and 15 times for 57 yards. But both were tough matchups against the Niners and Colts. Even more impressively, the Jets lost those games by a combined score of 67-20 and still managed to get Gore 36 carries. It suggests that Gore’s workload is as safe as it gets, and we finally have a matchup were he could go off.
