The women’s 10,000-meter final is set for Saturday, August 7 at 7:45 p.m. locally in Tokyo. That means that Americans will have to be up bright and early — 6:45 a.m. ET — to watch the race live.
There is no preliminary for the 10k, so all 29 runners will be on the track at the same time for the final. It’s 25 laps at Tokyo Olympic Stadium, with Letesenbet Gidey of Ethiopia the favorite thanks to her setting the world record in the Netherlands just two months ago. Three Americans will be running in Emily Sisson, Alicia Monson, and Karissa Schweizer. Sisson has finished ninth and tenth at the last two world championships, and Schweizer finished ninth in the 2019 Worlds in the 5000m.
The race will air live via online stream on Peacock, at NBCOlympics.com and through the NBC Sports mobile app. You’ll need a cable subscription for access. If you aren’t in front of a TV, you can also get a trial from YouTube TV, Hulu with Live TV, AT&T TV Now, FuboTV, or Sling TV to stream the event.
