Arguably the most famous event of the ancient Olympics will open the final day of the 2021 Tokyo Summer Olympics. The men’s marathon is set for Sunday, August 8th and will begin at 7 a.m. local time. That is a 6 p.m. ET start Saturday evening in the United States.
The race will open live via online stream on Peacock, at NBCOlympics.com and through the NBC Sports mobile app, all of which require some sort of subscription. Starting at 8 p.m. ET, NBC will pick up coverage during their primetime telecast. It will then air on replay at 6:15 a.m. Sunday morning on USA. If you aren’t in front of a TV, you can also get a trial from YouTube TV, Hulu with Live TV, AT&T TV Now, FuboTV, or Sling TV to stream the men’s marathon.
The heavy favorite to win at DraftKings Sportsbook is Kenya’s Eliud Kipchoge, installed at -200. He won marathon gold in the 2016 Rio Olympics and holds the world record, running the Berlin Marathon in 2:01:39. That broke the previous world record by one minute and 18 seconds.
Following Kipchoge are countrymates Lawrence Cherono (+350) and Amos Kipruto (+1100). The next three on the odds board are Ethiopan’s Sisa Lemma (+1200), Shura Kitata (+1300), and Lelisa Desisa (+1500). Americans on the odds board include Galen Rupp (+3500), Abdi Abdirahman (+6500), and Jacob Riley (+10000).
