We’ll see six gold medals awarded in track and field on Thursday, August 5th at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. And the full breadth of disciplines covered by the International Amateur Athletics Federation will be covered.

The final of the men’s triple jump leads off the competition at 11:00 p.m. ET Wednesday night in the USA. Pedro Pichardo of Brazil is the -285 favorite at DraftKings Sportsbook, with Will Claye of the United States at +700 underdog, but the third-choice which puts him in good shape to take home a medal.

One of the biggest American favorites for gold anywhere at the games is Ryan Crouser, who is -1000 to win the men’s shot put. Crouser won gold in Rio, set the current world record holder at the last Olympic Trials in Eugene, Oregon and is the only man in this field to ever throw the 16-pound ball over 23 meters.

Katie Nageotte of the United States is the +110 favorite in the women’s pole vault. She and the ROC’s Anzheilka Sidorova are the only two in this field to jump 4.95 meters, and they have a strong chance at being the last two standing in this event.

Also today will determine the winner of the men’s 20k racewalk, which is not a sport. What’s next, gold medals for the cartwheeling your way around a track? Sorry, this is just silly. We’re not apologizing for this editorial opinion in an informative piece, and put all your money on Japan’s Toshikazu Yamanishi at +110 to win it if you must. But any sport where having two feet off the ground at the same time is a penalty cannot be classified as “athletics.” And they’re all cheating anyway.
