Olympic medal events to watch on Monday

It’s a light day in the awarded medals, but still plenty of interesting ones to catch on today’s docket from the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.

Jade Carey will go for the United States on the floor exercise for a chance at an individual medal. Carey was part of the USA winning silver in the team event already at these games, and the status of her teammate Simone Biles for tomorrow night’s event finals is still up in the air.

At Olympic Stadium we’ll see the men’s long jump, the women’s 100m hurdles, the women’s discus, the men’s 3000m steeplechase, and the women’s 5k all have their finals. Juan Miguel Echevarria of Cuba is the +100 favorite at DraftKings Sportsbook in the long jump, with Soufiane El Bakkali of Morocco the +200 chalk in the wide open steeplechase.

And if you’re looking to catch some badminton action before you go another three years without it, it’s the medal round for both the women’s doubles and men’s singles championships.
