How the men’s soccer semifinal bracket is shaping up in 2021 Tokyo Summer Olympics

We take a look at the bracket for the semifinals of men’s Olympic soccer, with three traditional powers and the host nation remaining.

The 2021 Tokyo Olympic men’s soccer competition enters the semifinal round after a quarterfinal filled with near upsets.

Spain got past the Cote d’Ivoire 5-2, but needed extra time to survive on Saturday. A pair of goals from each team late forced the extra session, as all three goals from substitute Rafa Mir came in stoppage time and extra time as he only played 31 minutes.

Japan survived a goalless 120-minute draw with a 4-2 win on spot kicks against New Zealand. Brazil got one past the parked bus of Egypt, with early sub Matheus Cunha getting the only tally in a 1-0 victory. And Mexico’s second side showed plenty of offensive firepower in a 6-3 route of South Korea.

The expanded rosters of mostly under-23 players have made for an exciting tournament, and the winners of the semifinals below will play for gold on Saturday, August 7th at Yokohama’s International Stadium in one of the last events of the 2020 Games. The losers will face off for bronze on Saturday, August 6th at Saitama Stadium.

Brazil is the favorite at +140 to win gold at DraftKings Sportsbook, with Spain at +155. Both Mexico and Japan are listed at +600.
