History will be made in the pool tonight at the Tokyo Aquatics Center, as the first-ever co-ed medals in swimming will be awarded during the 4x400 mixed gender relay.
Mixed events are a much bigger part of the Tokyo Olympic program than we’ve seen before, and that includes the last race the Tokyo Aquatics Center tonight. Team GB is the favorite after their strong time in qualifying, but the United States will be in Lane 5 thanks to their second-best time in the preliminaries.
Also tonight the Men’s 100m Butterfly Final, Women’s 200m Backstroke Final, and Women’s 800m Freestyle Final.
In the other finals Katie Ledecky goes for her second gold of these Games in the 800m freestyle as she looks to continue her dominance of the distance events. She’s a -900 favorite over 200m and 400m winner Ariarne Titmus, who is the +400 underdog at DraftKings Sportsbook.
Australia’s Kaylee McKeown is the -250 chalk in the Women’s 200m Backstroke Final, while on the men’s side Caeleb Dressel of the Florida Gators and Team USA looks to do it again in the 100m butterfly as a -1100 favorite. The world and Olympic record holder will be in line to break his best-ever time of 49.50.
