Full volleyball schedule for Friday, July 30th in the Tokyo 2021 Summer Olympics

We take a look at the full volleyball schedule on the slate for Friday, July 30th at the 2021 Tokyo Summer Olympics.

One of the more anticipated matchups of the 2020 Tokyo Olympics in indoor volleyball is tonight, as the USA men take on Brazil in a matchup of medalists from the 2016 Rio Games.

The USA took away bronze in Rio, while the home court for Brazil made for even more pressure they overcame to win the gold. While neither team is favored this year, Brazil is the +400 choice to repeat, with the USA +500 at DraftKings Sportsbook.

The USA isn’t dead with a loss, but they’ll be facing a much tougher path in the quarterfinals with a loss thanks to dropping a four-set match to the ROC team last time out. It was winnable with the Americans holding a lead late in the fourth, but a spate of bad passing hit at the worst time.

On the beach the Americans look to stay nearly perfect in pool play for both teams in both genders. Phil Dalhausser and Nick Lucena dropped their opener to the Dutch 2-0, but the USA has run off eight straight since. Since Dalhauser and Lucena won their last two, it looks like the USA will have all four beach volleyball teams in the Round of 16 in Tokyo.
