Team USA Group A schedule, standings for 2021 Olympic men’s basketball

Here’s where Team USA stands in their group at the 2021 Tokyo Olympics.

The US men’s basketball team heads to the Tokyo Summer Olympics struggling to get on track. The team struggled in its exhibition schedule before heading to Tokyo to open group play. Team USA has won the past three Olympic gold medals and has won gold in six of the past seven Olympics. In 2004, the team won bronze in Athens.

The Americans are joined by France, the Czech Republic, and Iran. Team USA is the favorite to win gold, with France heading into the Olympics with the fourth best odds at +800. The Czech Republic was sitting at +15000 and Iran at +100000 coming into the Olympics.

Here’s how Group A looks with the schedule, results, and standings. The top two teams advance to the knockout stage. The top two third-place teams among the three groups also get spots in the knockout stage.
