Five of the 37 swimming gold medals on offer at the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games will be decided tonight, including one of the more interesting relay duels of the games between Australia and the United States.
The men’s 800-meter freestyle opens up the action, with Ukraine’s Mykhailo Romanchuk the favorite at -125 at DraftKings Sportsbook. Look for the USA’s Bobby Finke to be contention for a medal as well. He’s +600 to win gold, but +100 to walk away from the podium with something.
The 200-meter butterfly will also see a pair of Americans in medal contention in Hali Flickinger and Regan Smith, but both are far behind the favored Zhang Yufei, who is -400 to take the gold.
And in the final race of the night, the Australians look to continue their dominant Tokyo Games with another win over the United States in the 4x200 freestyle relay. The Aussies are -1000 to win this one, with the United States the second choice at +500. Team AUS was 2.96 seconds faster in qualifying, finishing with a 7:44:61 time that means the world record of 7:41.50 is in jeopardy. That was established by Australia at the 2019 World Championships.
