Team USA will be involved in a ton of events on Monday, July 26th with a few with opportunities to win gold medals. There are 14 gold medal events set to take place throughout the day, and we’ll see if the Americans can add to their medal total. Below are some of the top athletes on Team USA to watch on July 26th.
USA Athletes to watch on Monday, July 26th
The biggest name to watch is Katie Ledecky. The legendary swimmer is taking aim at her first gold medal of the Tokyo Games. She will be racing in the 400m freestyle, installed by DraftKings Sportsbook at +125 to win behind favorite Ariarne Titmus (AUS) who is a -225 favorite.
Team USA Swimming will also be looking for gold in the Men’s 4x100 freestyle relay. The team is favored at -300. The team includes Brooks Curry, Blake Pieroni, Bowen Becker, and Zach Apple.
Another solid shot for American gold is in Fencing during the Men’s Foil Individual. Italian Alessio Foconi is favored at +220 and American Gerek Meinhardt is right behind him at +600. Alexander Massialas (+1000) and Nick Itkin (+1100) are also in the mix.
American Brady Ellison is currently ranked as the No. 1 archer in the world, and he will compete against France on Monday alongside Jack Williams and Jakub Wukie in the men’s team competition.
The USA softball team will take the field with a 4-0 record, and pitchers Cat Osterman and Monica Abbott are a story to watch as the Americans have yet to allow a run in three softball victories. They face fellow unbeaten Japan
