Team USA begins its gold medal defense Sunday morning against a France team featuring plenty of NBA talent. The Americans will be getting reinforcements with Khris Middleton, Jrue Holiday and Devin Booker joining the team after the NBA Finals. Fans and bettors can catch the game at 8:00 a.m. ET on NBC.
If you are not in front of a television, Peacock and NBCOlympics.com will live stream the match. You’ll need a cable subscription for access. If you don’t have one, you can get a free trial from YouTube TV, Hulu with Live TV, AT&T TV Now, FuboTV, or Sling TV to stream the match. You can also watch on the NBC Sports mobile app.
Team USA had a rough exhibition schedule, losing to Nigeria and Australia to open preparation for the Games. To further complicate matters, the Americans lost Bradley Beal to health and safety protocols and had several other players sidelined indefinitely. This is a tough opening game, but USA has enough talent to start the Olympics strong.
France brings Rudy Gobert, Evan Fournier and Nicolas Batum to the Olympics and is always a challenger for a medal. Frank Ntilikina will also be in the mix for a team that took down USA at the 2019 FIBA World Cup. Given the chemistry issues Team USA has faced so far, this is a great opportunity for France to get an early win.
