The first day of the Summer Olympics is set to get started, and Team USA athletes will look to hit the ground running. Tokyo, Japan is 13 hours ahead of the Eastern Standard Time, so the first competition including the Americans will take place on Tuesday, July 20th.
USA Athletes to watch on Wednesday
The only Americans who are set to compete on Day 1 are in women’s soccer and softball, and both teams are the favorites to win the gold medals according to DraftKings Sportsbook. USA softball will match up with Italy at 11 p.m. ET on Tuesday, which is noon on Wednesday in Tokyo on NBC Sports Network. Team USA is -200 favorites to win gold in this event.
Later overnight, USA women’s soccer will see Sweden in a rematch of the 2016 quarterfinal loss. The match is scheduled for 4:30 a.m. ET on Wednesday, which is 5:30 p.m. in Tokyo. Team USA women’s soccer is getting -165 odds to leave Tokyo with a gold medal. This game can be seen on USA Network.
