The 2021 Summer Olympics have arrived! The Tokyo Games get underway Wednesday morning in Tokyo and Tuesday evening in the United States. The opening ceremonies don’t happen until Friday, but women’s soccer and women’s softball will begin group play in the days leading up. NBC Sports Network and USA will have the bulk of the coverage on day one.
If you are not in front of a television, NBCOlympics.com and the NBC Sports mobile app will both offer streaming coverage, but you’ll need a cable subscription for access. If you don’t have one, you can get a free trial for USA and NBC Sports Network through YouTube TV, Hulu with Live TV, AT&T TV Now, FuboTV, or Sling TV to stream the contests.
NBC Sports Network will open with coverage of women’s softball, opening with Australia vs. Japan at 8 p.m. ET on Tuesday. The US softball team will face Italy at 11 p.m. Tuesday night. Softball will lead into soccer, with USA and NBC Sports Network both airing soccer. The USWNT will face Sweden 4:30 a.m. ET Wednesday morning in a rematch of the 2016 Olympics.
