UPDATE: Team USA lost AGAIN. The US lost 91-83 to Australia. Damian Lillard led the US with 22 points and Patty Mills led Australia with 22 points.

Team USA will return to the court as heavy favorites over Australia in an exhibition game on Monday, July 12th. DraftKings Sportsbook has the Americans listed as 17.5-point favorites, but they were favored by much heading into a loss to Nigeria in Las Vegas over the weekend.

Team USA was favored by 29.5 points heading into Saturday’s game but suffered a stunning loss 90-87. This was the first time the Americans lost to a national team from the African continent. This was an exhibition, game as Team USA is just starting to play as a team and does not have their full roster of players at this point — but it is still a disappointing loss with the Tokyo Olympics set to begin soon.

Prior to Saturday, Team USA’s most recent exhibition loss came in 2019 to Australia, and they will look to avoid a repeat of that performance on Monday night. Australia is coming off an 87-84 victory over Argentina in their first exhibition matchup.

The game is set to begin at 8 p.m. ET and can be seen on NBC Sports Network.
