The Minnesota Wild season is officially on pause due to an outbreak of COVID-19. The NHL is postponing the team’s next four games and their training facilities have been closed immediately until further notice. This news comes following word the team placed Nick Bjugstad, Nick Bonino, Joel Eriksson Ek, Marcus Johansson, and Jared Spurgeon on the NHL’s COVID-19 protocol list. They join forward Marcus Foligno who was already on the list.

The postponements include Thursday’s game against the Avalanche, Saturday and Sunday games against the Coyotes, and next Tuesday’s game against the Blues. Their next game after that would be the following Thursday, February 11 against the Blues. This of course depends on the team getting its outbreak under control.

The Wild entered the day with a 6-5 record and sitting in third place in the West division with 12 points. Since opening the season 4-1, the Wild have gone 2-4, most recently losing two of three to the Avalanche.
