Veteran running back Dalvin Cook will sign with the Baltimore Ravens for the playoffs, per Adam Schefter and Cook’s agency. Cook and the New York Jets re-worked his deal and agreed to mutually part ways earlier this week. He will join a backfield consisting of Gus Edwards, Justice Hill and Melvin Gordon, although the latter could be released to free up the roster spot for Cook.

Cook was part of the high-profile moves that the Jets made in the preseason that garnered the team a lot of hype. Unfortunately, whether it was his ability or just the fit, it didn’t work out in the offense. The veteran RB played in 15 games this season and carried the ball only 67 times for 214 yards. He added 78 yards on 15 receptions and has yet to score a touchdown this season.

Baltimore is locked into the No. 1 seed for the AFC. They play the Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 18, but will be resting most of their starters to try and avoid injury. If Cook is signed to a deal, it will likely happen after Week 18 once the playoffs begin. Edwards led the running backs with 763 yards and 13 touchdowns. Hill picked up 387 yards on 84 carries with three touchdowns. Gordon played limited snaps in three games and has 63 yards on 19 carries with a touchdown heading into Week 18.
