The NFL is firmly into December and the playoff race is heating up. There are seven AFC teams within a game of each other for the three wild card berths. In the NFC, there are six teams within a game of each other for the final two wild card berths.
The Week 14 slate features two games matching up those teams and a host of other critical matchups for the playoff picture. The week opens with the Steelers hosting the Patriots on Thursday Night Football. New England’s playoff chances are all but finished while Pittsburgh is looking to get on track after losing to the Cardinals last week.
The highlight of the Sunday slate is Eagles-Cowboys on Sunday Night Football. The Eagles lost to the 49ers last week, which nudges open the door in the NFC East for the Cowboys to move into a tie. Earlier in the day, the 49ers host the Seahawks and that game coupled with Rams-Ravens could effectively slam the door on the NFC West.
The week wraps with a double-dip of Monday Night Football. The Dolphins host the Titans and the Giants host the Packers, with both games kicking off at 8:15 p.m. ET.
