Should you bet Rams to make the playoffs after beating the Browns?

We discuss whether or not you should bet on the Rams to make the NFC playoffs

The Los Angeles Rams have made quite the 180 this season. After a 3-6 start to the season, Los Angeles has won their last three games to move to 6-6 and into playoff contention. The Rams were dealing with some injury issues to begin the year, but with everyone healthy, they are looking like a potential Wild Card in the NFC.

The Rams currently have +145 odds to make the playoffs at DraftKings Sportsbook.

Upcoming Schedule

Week 14: @ Ravens
Week 15: vs. Commanders
Week 16: vs. Saints
Week 17: @ Giants
Week 18: @ 49ers

Their Week 14 and Week 18 games are the most challenging matchups on the Rams’ remaining schedule. However, neither game is completely out of their grasp if they are able to stay healthy. The Rams will likely enter as favorites for the middle three games against Washington, New Orleans, and New York, and all three of these games are very winnable.

The Commanders have just four wins this season, and if the Rams continue to play the way they have been for the last three weeks, that game should be a layup. The Saints’ offense has been plagued by injuries this season, and the Giants are starting their third-string QB.

The matchup against the Ravens this week could end up making or breaking the Rams’ playoff hopes, and Baltimore enters as a 7-point favorite. Let’s assume the 49ers, who bulldozed the Eagles in Week 13, will manage to win the final game of the season.

Final record prediction: 9-8

The Rams will lose in Weeks 14 and 18.

NFC playoff standings following win over Browns

  1. Philadelphia Eagles
  2. San Francisco 49ers
  3. Detroit Lions
  4. Atlanta Falcons
  5. Dallas Cowboys
  6. Minnesota Vikings
  7. Green Bay Packers
  8. Los Angeles Rams
  9. Seattle Seahawks
  10. Tampa Bay Buccaneers
  11. New Orleans Saints
  12. New York Giants
  13. Chicago Bears
  14. Washington Commanders
  15. Arizona Cardinals
  16. Carolina Panthers (eliminated)

The Rams are tied at 6-6 with the Vikings, Packers, and Seahawks, and we can expect it to be a tight race for the Wild Card. Either the Cowboys or the Eagles will likely end up with the No. 5 seed, depending on which ends up winning their division. The Packers, like the Rams, are on the up-and-up at this point in the season. However, the Vikings struggled last week against the Bears, and could be slipping up in the coming weeks.

After the way they’ve turned their season around, I think that the Rams will eke out a No. 7 seed in the NFC. Kyren Williams’ return has given this team a huge boost in the rushing game, and their slate through Weeks 15-17 is very manageable. The Packers get the No. 6.
