The Los Angeles Rams beat the Washington Commanders on Sunday to improve to 7-7 on the season. They scored 20 unanswered points to open the game and won 28-20 in a game that was not nearly as close as the final score would suggest.

The Rams head into Week 15 sitting in the final wild card berth. The 49ers clinched the NFC West this past weekend, but LA is in a strong position to claim one of the three wild card berths for the 2024 NFL Playoffs.

Upcoming Schedule

Week 16: vs. Saints
Week 17: @ Giants
Week 18: @ 49ers

The Rams get two very winnable games the next two weeks. They’re a four-point favorite against the Saints and will be favored on the road against a Giants team that is probably coming back to earth after the early Tommy DeVito hype. That final week against the 49ers is a tough call. San Francisco could clinch the No. 1 seed in Week 17 if they win their next two games and the Eagles drop one game by then. But given the scheduling, there’s a decent chance the No. 1 seed comes down to the wire in Week 18. That would give the 49ers something to play for rather than resting starters.

Final record prediction: 9-8

Current NFC playoff standings

1. San Francisco 49ers, 11-3 — clinched playoff berth
2. Philadelphia Eagles, 10-3 — clinched playoff berthplayoff berth
3. Detroit Lions, 10-4
4. Tampa Bay Buccaneers, 7-7

5. Dallas Cowboys, 10-4 — clinched
6. Minnesota Vikings, 7-7
7. New Orleans Saints, 7-7

8. Los Angeles Rams, 7-7
9. Seattle Seahawks, 6-7
10. Green Bay Packers, 6-8
11. Atlanta Falcons, 6-8

Yes, the Rams will end up in the playoffs. They get the Saints in Week 16, which means they can climb ahead of them for good with a win. They swept the Seahawks so they hold the head-to-head tiebreaker. They did lose to the Packers, so that’s a key tiebreaker if they drop one of their remaining games.
