Los Angeles Chargers quarterback Justin Herbert will likely be sitting out in Week 15 as the Chargers take on the Las Vegas Raiders on Thursday Night Football. Herbert fractured a finger on his throwing hand during the Chargers’ Week 15 loss against the Denver Broncos.

How Justin Herbert’s injury impacts the Chargers fantasy players

Tuesday Update: Herbert had surgery on his finger and head coach Brandon Staley said that the quarterback is done for the remainder of the season.

Herbert’s backup is currently Easton Stick, though we may see Los Angeles sign a free agent QB to their roster this week. Stick came in for Herbert to take his first snaps of the season after Herbert injured his finger against the Broncos, and went 13-for-24 for 179 yards, no touchdowns, and no interceptions.

Herbert’s absence will impact wide receivers Keenan Allen and Quentin Johnston’s earnings this week as most fantasy leagues move into playoffs. Tight end Gerald Everett may also see a decrease in fantasy points. Austin Ekeler is already a high earner, but the Chargers may choose to lean more on their rushing game with Herbert absent, so Joshua Kelley could see an increase in carries and yardage this week.
