The NFL schedule is subject to change. The league implemented flex scheduling after stereotypically horrible Thursday Night Football games a few years ago. Given a certain set of parameters, they are able to move around games to try and put forth the best primetime product they can. While many changes are just shifting Sunday kickoff times, the NFL has made its first primetime flex of the 2023 season.
Week 15’s Monday Night Football matchup originally was going to pit the Kansas City Chiefs against the New England Patriots. While Kansas City remains a draw with Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce, New England and its current 2-9 record, does not. This is the first time that MNF has been flexed. The Kansas City-New England game will be played at 1 p.m. ET on Sunday, December 17. The Eagles and Seahawks will still be playing the game in Seattle on Monday, December. 18.
