UPDATE: Pressley Harvin III got off to a great start to his career and put together a game that likely puts him in the lead to be the Steelers punter this year. Check out this compilation of punts by the rookie. You can’t get any better than this.

Steelers rookie punter Pressley Harvin III has two punts so far in the Hall-of-Fame game and both were great. The second one in the second quarter was an absolute masterpiece though. The Steelers drafted the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets punter with their seventh round pick despite already having a decent punter in Jordan Berry.

Late in the second quarter Harvin nailed a punt down the one foot line that stuck like a perfect golf shot.

Harvin isn’t your typical punter at 5 foot 11, 260 pounds, but he’s shown that he’s the real deal so far in this preseason game. Berry has been serviceable, but he’s mostly average statistically and if Harvin can keep up this kind of performance, Berry’s time in Pittsburgh may be waning.

Behind the Steel Curtain goes in depth on how Berry has come up short of late and how Harvin has a real chance to usurp him in preseason.
