UPDATE: Kickoff is scheduled for 8:08 p.m. ET, per Dale Lolley.
The Dallas Cowboys and Pittsburgh Steelers are set to kick off the NFL preseason this year for the 2021 Hall of Fame game. The game will be played at the Tom Benson Hall of Fame in Canton, Ohio on Thursday, August 5th, with kick off set for 8:00 p.m. ET. The game is set to be broadcast nationally on FOX. The game will be available via FOX.com/live and the FOX NOW app.
The Cowboys come into the 2021 season off a disappointing 2020. Dak Prescott broke his ankle and the team never recovered, finishing the season 6-10. The team got Prescott signed to a four-year contract extension to settle the QB position for the time being. They also added potential starters with their first two draft picks in linebacker Micah Parsons and cornerback Kelvin Joseph.
The Steelers are coming off a solid but not great 2020. They won the division with a 12-4 record but were eliminated in the first round by the Browns. Pittsburgh faced a salary cap crunch, and so simply retaining talent like JuJu Smith-Schuster was a small victory. This is mostly about running things back in hopes of securing another Super Bowl with QB Ben Roethlisberger. They did add running back Najee Harris in the first round of the draft.
The Steelers are a 1-point favorite at DraftKings Sportsbook and -140 on the moneyline. The Cowboys are a +120 moneyline underdog.
