The Detroit Lions and Pittsburgh Steelers are facing off for Week 2 of the 2021 NFL preseason, airing on local television. We break down how to watch the matchup, particularly if you’re outside the broadcast region.

Will Detroit finish the season above .500?

The Detroit Lions and Pittsburgh Steelers meet up in Week 2 of the 2021 NFL preseason at Heinz Field in Pittsburgh. Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m. ET. The game will air on FOX 2 in the Lions market, while the Steelers broadcast map can be found here. Given that this is the preseason, we’ll see plenty of unknown and lesser-known faces on the rosters. To keep track of who you’re watching checking out the Lions roster and the Steelers roster.

Pittsburgh prevailed in its second game of the preaseason last Thursday, a 24-16 victory over the Philadelphia Eagles. The most interesting development from the game was the ongoing battle for backup quarterback with Dwayne Haskins, Mason Rudolph, and Joshua Dobbs all getting a sizeable number of reps. Haskins played the most, going 16-of-22 through the air for 161 yards and a touchdown.

The Lions fell to the Buffalo Bills 16-15 last Friday by way of a last-minute field goal from Bills kicker Tyler Bass. Surprisingly, Jared Goff got plenty of action in the preseason opener, completing seven of nine passes for 56 yards and also taking a sack before handing the reigns to David Blough and Tim Boyle for the night.

If you aren’t around a TV to check out this preseason contest, you’ll need to dig a little deeper for streaming options. While regular season games are usually available outside the two local markets, preseason games are much more limited. To view this game via live online stream, you’ll need to use NFL Game Pass. If you are not planning on watching every week of the preseason, the service offers a free seven-day trial.

The Steelers are a 6.5-point favorite at DraftKings Sportsbook and -305 on the moneyline. The Lions are a +240 moneyline underdog. The point total is installed at 37.
