The Cleveland Browns meet the Jacksonville Jaguars as both teams kick off the preseason against each other. The Browns are looking to build on their first playoff win since 1994 while the Jaguars hope to start the Urban Meyer-Trevor Lawrence era on a strong note.

Quarterbacks

Browns head coach Kevin Stefanski said Baker Mayfield will not play in the opener, according to Pro Football Talk. Jaguars head coach Urban Meyer said both Trevor Lawrence and Gardner Minshew will play, although he has not committed to a starter.

Running Backs

There are no injuries surrounding Nick Chubb and Kareem Hunt but it would be surprising to see both get significant carries. That leaves D’Ernest Johnson and Demetric Felton to take most of the work for Cleveland. On Jacksonville’s side, Travis Etienne and James Robinson could get some looks but Carlos Hyde should see most of the carries. Dare Ogunbowale is also in the mix.

Wide Receivers

Odell Beckham Jr. is unlikely to play in the opener after recovering from an ACL injury. D.J. Chark is likely out for the Jaguars. Jarvis Landry, Laviska Shenault and Marvin Jones Jr. could see work, but they’ll all likely get minimal snaps.

Tight Ends

David Njoku is questionable to play for the Browns. The Jaguars have a revolving door at tight end, including Tim Tebow. He’ll probably see significant snaps for Jacksonville.
