Detroit Lions RB Craig Reynolds had a decent outing in the team’s first preseason game against the Buffalo Bills, potentially opening the door for him to join the final roster. The Lions have some injury concerns at running back so Reynolds could be a nice buffer. He was added to the roster just yesterday from the practice squad, so tonight’s performance comes off very little preparation with the team.

Craig Reynolds stats vs. Bills

Six carries, 49 yards, 1 touchdown, 1 reception for -1 yard.

Analysis

Reynolds broke off a nice 24-yard touchdown run to boost his yards per carry. He outperformed Dedrick Mills and Jemar Jefferson, helping his cause in joining the final roster.

Fantasy implications

If Reynolds keeps replicating this effort, he could push for playing time, but rookie Jemar Jefferson will get more shots due to his draft status. D’Andre Swift and Jamaal Williams will be the leaders, but Reynolds could be worth monitoring in dynasty leagues if he can continue to put runs like this on tape.
