The New England Patriots first round draft pick in 2019, N’Keal Harry, has requested a trade, per his agent Jamal Tooson. Harry has been a disappointment in his first two seasons with the Patriots. He’s managed 45 receptions on 81 targets for 414 yards and four touchdowns with just 8.2 yards per reception.
The free agency additions of Kendrick Bourne and Nelson Agholor likely had Harry fighting for a roster position in training camp according to The Boston Herald’s Andrew Callahan. It was also reported that head coach Bill Belichick ignored Patriots scouts who wanted A.J. Brown and Deebo Samuel over Harry, per Sports Illustrated’s Albert Breer. This follows a pattern of Belichick having trouble scouting and drafting receivers.
The trade value for Harry can’t be good, so cutting him is probably a strong option if they can’t find someone willing to give them a late round pick in exchange. Harry’s agent posted on Twitter requesting the trade, which can’t sit too well with Belichick. The chances he suits up for the patriots this year are likely nil.
