The NFL announced the complete 2021 schedule on Wednesday, May 12, and the Atlanta Falcons are officially set to kick off their 2021 season at home against the Philadelphia Eagles at 1 PM. Their first divisional game will be in Week 2 against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on the road.
The Falcons were a comedy of errors last season during their 4-12 campaign. It seemed like every week they were up big early in the game, but collapsed down the stretch and blew a lead all to end up losing. They were wallowing in mediocrity the two previous seasons, going 7-9 in 2018 and 2019, but really took a nosedive in 2020. Atlanta didn’t have much cap space to work with during free agency and stayed away from big-name signings. They did grab one of the best players in the NFL Draft though when they selected Florida TE Kyle Pitts, who should come in and be a big contributor right away.
