Complete list of opponents for the New York Giants in 2021

The Giants playoff hopes came to an end in Week 17, as the Eagles tanked for the sixth-overall pick to close out the season. We already have an early look at their 2021 needs and opponents.

The New York Giants suffered a crucial loss when Saquon Barkley tore his ACL early in the 2020 season but remained in the running for the NFC East title all the way up until the end of Week 17. Their defense made up for their subpar passing attack.

Daniel Jones had a rough year without his top weapon and took a step back in his sophomore season. It took a while for the Giants’ offense to pick up steam but Wayne Gallman unexpectedly provided a spark in the backfield to help get the ball rolling. New York’s sturdy run defense and a secondary led by James Bradberry are building blocks for 2021.

The Giants’ receiving corps is weak behind Golden Tate, Sterling Shepard and Darius Slayton so getting a new pass-catcher for Jones could be a priority. Leonard Williams is entering free agency after a Pro Bowl season so replacing him with another edge rusher could also be a smart play for New York. Having a strong offensive line for the return of Barkley should also be on the Giants’ mind though.

2021 opponents

The Giants will face their NFC East divisional opponents six times, half at home and half on the road. In addition, they draw matchups against all four teams from the AFC West and NFC South. The NFL is expected to add a 17th game to the regular season schedule that will feature an inter-conference matchup with a similarly placed team. The Giants would face the AFC East.
