UPDATE 8:41 p.m.: It appears Clowney has made his decision to sign with the Titans. He is reportedly texting with his new teammates in Tennessee.

UPDATE 7:37 p.m.: Clowney told Josina Anderson he has not made a decision yet.

The Tennessee Titans are getting an unexpected boost to their pass rush, according to ESPN’s Dianna Russini. She is reporting the team is signing free agent edge rusher Jadeveon Clowney.

This news comes after the New Orleans Saints went “all in” on Clowney and seemed the heavy favorite to land the former Seahawk. They came up short however, and now Clowney will reunite with Titans head coach Mike Vrabel, who served on the Texans’ defensive staff when Clowney first entered the league.

Clowney spent 2019 with the Seattle Seahawks and finished the season with a career low three sacks. He missed three games in a season that was up-and-down for him. For his career, Clowney has 32 sacks.

Last year, the Titans defensive front ranked 9th in adjusted line yards against the run and 14th in adjusted sack rate at Football Outsiders.
