It’s safe to say DK Metcalf is going to get an earful from his position coach and his teammates. The Seahawks receiver has been looking like a breakout pass catcher, but in Week 3, he made a boneheaded decision that cost his team a touchdown.
Metcalf had beaten Trevon Diggs and had an easy score on a perfect pass from Russell Wilson — or so it seemed. Metcalf caught the ball inside the ten and was jogging into the end zone, but left the ball hanging a little too loose. Diggs caught up and punched the ball out of Metcalf’s hands. It shot out of the end zone, which meant it was a Seahawks turnover and the Cowboys ball.
The Cowboys and Seahawks were tied at 9 at the time of Diggs’ hustle play. The game is headed into the second quarter and the Cowboys are going to punt to open the new frame.
