Jaguars vs. Titans, Week 2: How to watch, what to watch

The Jacksonville Jaguars are coming off a surprising win over the Indianapolis Colts as underdogs on the road, and the Tennessee Titans won their late-night Monday Night Football game in a close, low-scoring game against the Denver Broncos.

Jacksonville was expected to lose by at least a touchdown according to oddsmakers, but Gardner Minshew put together a solid performance to guide the Jaguars to a 27-20 victory. He didn’t throw it a whole lot, but he only threw one incomplete pass, finishing 19 of 20 for 173 yards and three touchdowns. James Robinson led Jacksonville on the ground with 62 yards on 16 carries.

As for Tennessee, the Titans won a 16-14 game against the Broncos with Ryan Tannehill and Derrick Henry leading the way. Tannehill threw for 249 yards on 29 of 43 passing with two touchdowns. On the ground, Henry was the only player to receive a handoff and had 31 carries for 116 yards. Corey Davis had a strong performance with seven catches for 101 yards to lead all pass catchers.

One team should be feeling pretty good about itself starting the season 2-0. Who will it be? Let’s take a deeper look at the matchup.

Fantasy football start/sit advice

Jaguars

DJ Chark: The Jaguars’ wide receiver caught only three passes for 25 yards in Jacksonville’s victory. Fortunately for those who started him, Chark found his way into the end zone to salvage what otherwise would’ve been a disappointing start to the season. He only saw three targets his way, which should increase next week where he can be looked at as a WR3 or flex play in standard leagues

James Robinson: In a pretty remarkable story, Robinson is a starting NFL running back as a rookie signed undrafted free agent. He took advantage of his first game with 62 rushing yards on 16 carries. He was the only Jacksonville running back to receive a carry with wide receiver and fellow rookie Laviska Shenault receiving two carries. If he continues to get this type of volume, Robinson could enter into RB2 status.

Titans

A.J. Brown: The Titans’ wide receiver caught five of eight targets for 39 yards in the opening game of the season. Brown finished with just one catch in the first half, but he wasn’t able to gain much yardage in his few receptions, which is something he excelled at last season. Look for Brown to be a difference maker moving forward. Forget about this game and plug him in as a WR2 with upside.
