The Minnesota Vikings and Indianapolis Colts are heading into their Week 2 matchup looking for their first win of the 2020 NFL season. Minnesota lost 43-34 at home to the Green Bay Packers, while Indianapolis was defeated by the Jacksonville Jaguars in an upset.

The Vikings struggled to contain the Packers’ passing game, though the offense was able to move the ball and score quickly against Green Bay. The Philip Rivers era didn’t quite get off to a hot start in Week 1, and the Colts may have lost running back Marlon Mack for the rest of the season.

Fantasy football start/sit advice

Vikings

Vikings D/ST: Minnesota is coming off a pretty bad performance defensively against the Packers, allowing 43 points and 522 yards, but there’s potential for a bounce-back performance heading into Week 2. Minnesota could return to its 2019 form when the Vikings ranked fifth, allowing just 18.9 points per game. The Vikings defense could be worthy of starting in standard leagues and could receive a cheaper-than-usual price in DFS.

Colts

Jonathan Taylor: The Colts’ rookie running back is now entrenched as the go-to player in the backfield with Marlon Mack potentially missing the rest of the season with an Achilles injury. Taylor received nine carries for just 22 yards and Nyheim Hines saw quite a bit of red zone work, so that’s unfortunate for fantasy owners. However with the volume he is like to receive, Taylor could be an RB1 heading into most weeks in addition to his pass-catching ability. He caught six passes for 67 yards on Sunday and should be in lineups against the Vikings.

Phillip Rivers: A loss to the Jaguars isn’t the best start, but that doesn’t matter for fantasy owners. Rivers was busy throwing the ball on Sunday, completing 36 of 46 passes for 363 yards. He threw two interceptions and one touchdown pass but proved he can still be an effective NFL quarterback. Rivers may be looked at as a high-end QB2 heading into Week 2.
