Full list of times and TV channels for Week 1 Sunday

Football’s back! Here’s what to watch for Sunday on the NFL’s Week 1 schedule.

The NFL is back! The 2020 regular season kicked off on Thursday with the Kansas City Chiefs beating the Houston Texans 34-20 to open their Super Bowl title defense. Patrick Mahomes and Clyde Edwards-Helaire led a still potent Chiefs offense, while the Texans clearly missed DeAndre Hopkins all evening.

Sunday is now dawning, and that means the heavy slate of action. We get 13 games today, with the week closing on Monday with the now annual Monday Night Football doubleheader. We have 9 games in the 1 p.m. ET slot, 3 in the 4:05/4:25 p.m. slots, and then Sunday Night Football to close out the night.

It’s only Week 1, so we aren’t exactly ready to talk playoff or draft order implications. However, we can start to get an idea who may or may not move into that conversation. One game will not tell us everything we need to know, but it will give us a starting point for analysis. With that in mind, I thought I’d offer up some of the games that intrigue me most on Sunday.

Oh, and there’s a slightly interesting debut happening in the NFC South at 4:25 p.m. ET.......

Best Game of Week 1 Sunday

Cardinals @ 49ers: I’m a 49ers fan, so take this with a grain of salt. However, these two teams played a pair of wild ones last season. One saw the 49ers almost blow a lead while the other saw the Cardinals actually blow a lead. One big question is whether or not Kyler Murray will take a step forward in year two. Another big question is how the 49ers respond to their Super Bowl 54 loss. This game won’t give us final answers, but gets us moving in the right direction.

Sleeper Game of Week 1 Sunday

Seahawks @ Falcons: The betting public is all over Seattle, but people are sleeping on the Falcons. Seattle is up to a three point favorite, but Matt Ryan and that offense will give them trouble. I think this could turn into a really fun one.

Most interesting game of Week 1 Sunday

Dolphins @ Patriots: I don’t expect this to be a particularly good game to watch, but I do know plenty of eye balls will be on Cam Newton’s debut with Bill Belichick. How can you not be intrigued by this? Newton has dealt with foot and shoulder injuries the past two years. If he’s healthy, does he still have it? If he does, the Patriots shouldn’t miss a beat. If he is firmly on the wrong side of his career, the Patriots have a lot to figure out.

Worst Game of Week 1 Sunday

Colts @ Jaguars: Maybe Jacksonville surprises everybody, but they’re tanking for Trevor Lawrence. Philip Rivers makes his debut for Indianapolis, so that’s certainly worth watching, but otherwise I’m just not seeing much to watch in this game.
