Bears edge Lions in Madden simulation — 4/2/20

Despite being listed as the RB2 on Chicago’s depth chart, it was Tarik Cohen ($4,600; 26.1 DKFP) – not David Montgomery ($7,000; 3.1 DKFP) – who went off in this afternoon’s Madden simulation. In fact, the diminutive back scored the game-winning touchdown in the Bears’ 23-17 OT victory over Detroit. Maybe it was a mistake by the AI or maybe the CPU was aware of Chicago’s recent struggles kicking clutch field goals, but the Bears chose to hand it off to Cohen at the seven-yard line instead of attempting a short field goal. Either way, it turned out to be the correct decision. Cohen finished with 91 scrimmage yards and five catches, while T.J. Hockenson ($6,600; 17.7 DKFP) led the way for the Lions with six catches, 57 yards and his own TD.

Bears silence Redskins’ offense in Madden simulation — 4/7/20

This was simply not ever going to be a good afternoon for Dwayne Haskins ($9,400; 4.8 DKFP). With the rookie carrying a lowly 70 overall rating into his Tuesday matchup with the vaunted Chicago defense, things went about as you would expect. Haskins threw two interceptions, the Bears’ D/ST ($5,000; 13.0 DKFP) sacked the pivot twice, and Washington couldn’t even muster a single touchdown in an eventual 13-6 loss. Still, to be fair to Haskins, it’s not like Chicago was moving the ball consistently down the field, either. Really, defense aside, the lone Bears player to make much of an impact was Tarik Cohen ($2,600; 11.1 DKFP), who finished with 41 scrimmage yards and a TD.

Mitchell Trubisky leads late rally to keep Bears undefeated in Madden Streams — 4/10/20

After a slow offensive start for both teams, the Bears scored two touchdowns late to edge the Broncos, 14-13, on Friday afternoon’s Madden Stream and improve to 3-0 in their simulations. Trubisky ($10,000 in single-game Showdown; 23.24 DKFP) stepped up on the final drive, running for big chunks of yards before completing the game-winning touchdown to Allen Robinson ($11,000; 17.9 DKFP). Trubisky was the winning option at Captain’s Pick with 211 passing yards, 78 rushing yards and two passing touchdowns. The Bears got another touchdown from Tarik Cohen ($3,400; 12 DKFP), as the Human Joystick proved to be a great value option again. Courtland Sutton ($10,400; 13.1 DKFP) had the Broncos lone touchdown as they fell to 1-2.

Falcons squeak out a 17-14 victory over Bears in Madden simulation — 4/17/20

Matt Ryan ($11,000) locked onto Calvin Ridley ($9,600) to take care of the big plays in this game and the WR2 delivered. On his four receptions, Ridley went for 110 yards and a touchdown, good for 24 DKFP and 36 in the captain’s spot. Ryan would finish with 232 passing yards in total and two touchdowns thrown. Despite being one of the most expensive players in the game, Julio Jones ($10,600) only pulled down five receptions for 49 yards. For the Bears, Mitch Trubisky ($9,600) was dominant on the ground, rushing for 98 yards while tossing two touchdowns and 112 passing yards.

Steelers defense takes down Mitchell Trubisky and the Bears– 4/20/20

In a matchup of two of the strongest defenses in Madden Streams, the Steelers DST ($5,600; 17 DKFP) forced three fumbles and had four sacks along with a DST touchdown on their way to the biggest game for a defense we’ve seen since the quarters were expanded. Despite his two fumbles, Mitchell Trubisky ($10,400; 18.96 DKFP) was still the Captain’s Pick on the winning team as he threw for 211 yards and a pair of touchdowns while adding 30 yards rushing. Trey Burton ($7,000; 14.8 DKFP) and Taylor Gabriel ($6,400; 21.6 DKFP) hauled in those two scores to put together good games while James Conner ($8,800; 16.4 DKFP) stacked up 96 rushing yards along with a rushing touchdown to lead the Steelers.

Mitchell Trubisky shines for the Bears again– 4/24/20

In real life, it looks like Trubisky ($10,200) could be out of a job. The Bears traded for Nick Foles, seemingly ending Trubisky’s time as a starter. At the very least, it’s shortened his leash. In Madden, he’s doing more to fight for his job than he ever did in actual football. Trubisky racked up 22.4 DKFP in a 24-21 win over the Vikings. He continues to be one of the top performing fantasy players in Madden sims. On the other side of the game, Adam Thielen ($8,600) had another big game for the Vikings. One of the top simulation wide receivers, he had 20.7 DKFP and came just shy of the 100-yard bonus.

Titans outlast Bears in Madden simulation– 4/27/20

Look, I don’t think anyone was expecting a classic between Tennessee and Chicago on Sunday night, but it’s never ideal when the winning team’s most notable player was its kicker. Still, that was the exact result we got in the Titans’ 19-16 victory. Ryan Succop ($3,800; 16.0 DKFP) nailed four field goal attempts to lead the way for Tennessee, while Corey Davis ($6,600; 14.7 DKFP) scored the squad’s lone touchdown. Things were at least a little more exciting on the Bears’ side of the stat sheet. In particular, Allen Robinson ($10,200; 27.2 DKFP) was a stud, registering six catches, 122 yards and a touchdown in the losing effort.

Bears keep the Colts off the scoreboard in shutout win — 4/29/20

This was an ugly game for the Colts. The only player who produced any fantasy value for them was Eric Ebron ($8,400; 23.3 DKFP), who went for over 100 receiving yards with the Colts playing from behind. For the Bears’ defense ($3,800; 14 DKFP), basically all of its scoring came from the shutout. Outside of that, the unit had a pair of sacks and an interception. Leading the Chicago offense, Mitchell Trubisky ($10,200; 18.42 DKFP) once again played well. Due to his rushing potential, he rarely ever has had a bad Madden sim game. He’s one of the top-scoring QBs and had 89 rushing yards today.

Raiders earn comeback win over Bears in Madden sim — 5/1/20

The Raiders got it done with a well balanced team effort, as no individual carried the load in the 30-27 victory. Jalen Richard ($2,400; 16.1 DKFP) made for the best value in the sim, rushing for 63 yards and a touchdown, and factoring into the receiving game. Daniel Carlson ($3,800; 13 DKFP) also knocked in three field goals and three extra-points for Oakland. The biggest fantasy impact came on Chicago’s side, as Trey Burton ($7,600; 27.7 DKFP) posted an 8-107-1 line. While Burton posted 41.55 DKFP in the captain spot, the first place lineup captained Mitchell Trubisky ($10,800; 22.32 DKFP), who went for 33.48 DKFP, thanks to 283 yards, two touchdowns and 40 rushing yards.

Raiders earn comeback win over Bears in Madden sim — 5/5/20

Jameis Winston ($10,800; 22.12 DKFP) led the Bucs to a 28-24 win over the Bears Tuesday. Winston finished with 303 passing yards and two TDs, leading all Bucs in DKFP. In the surest sign that this was a simulation, and not a live 2019 game, OJ Howard ($6,800; 20 DKFP) was one of his top receiving options, catching seven passes for 70 yards and a TD and easily besting any of his fantasy outputs from last season. Breshad Perriman ($3,400; 21.8 DKFP) led Tampa pass-catchers with 98 yards and a TD of his own. The best DFS play for the Bears was Trey Burton ($7,800; 23.4 DKFP), who caught eight catches for 124 yards.

Taylor Gabriel catches a pair of touchdowns as Bears D shuts down the Chiefs — 5/9/20

The Bears didn’t need much more than Gabriel’s ($6,400; 32.4 DKFP) production to beat Kansas City. In addition to his pair of touchdown receptions, Gabriel caught six passes for 115 yards. This also meant another strong game from Mitchell Trubisky ($10,200; 25.84 DKFP). He’s been nearly unstoppable in our Madden sims and he comfortably outplayed Patrick Mahomes ($11,600; 13.72 DKFP), even though Mahomes has a 99 overall rating. Mahomes struggled to get much going against the Bears’ defense and turned the ball over twice.

Packers squeak past Bears in Madden simulation — 5/11/20

It wasn’t always pretty – particularly after Aaron Rodgers ($11,400; 18.8 DKFP) threw a first-half pick-six – but Green Bay found a way to get it done on Monday night. Thanks to a last minute field goal, the Packers emerged from this NFC North battle with a 20-17 victory. However, from a fantasy perspective, the big winners were specifically Green Bay’s wide receivers. In fact, almost every single one had some level of success in this stream. Davante Adams ($10,800; 25.3 DKFP) finished with 103 yards and a touchdown; Marquez Valdes-Scantling ($5,400; 16.4 DKFP) collected seven catches for 94 yards; and even Allen Lazard ($3,400; 9.3 DKFP) found the end zone on one of his two grabs.

Giants eek out a win in Tuesday’s simulation — 5/12/20

Darius Slayton ($5,600; 21.5 DKFP) dominated in an otherwise slow 16-12 simulated win over the Bears Tuesday. Slayton’s eight catches for 105 yards made him the highest-scoring DFS option, and by a hefty margin. If you missed out on Slayton, you probably didn’t do so well, though some combination of fellow Giants Saquon Barkley ($9,800; 14.8 DKFP) and Golden Tate ($9,000; 13.6 DKFP) and Bears QB Mitch Trubisky ($10,800; 13.56 DKFP) might have been enough to keep a roster afloat. Barkley logged 57 yards and a TD on the ground, while Tate tallied 26 yards and TD through the air. Trubisky threw for just 124 yards, but he saved his day with his rushing production: 26 yards and a TD.

Mitchell Trubisky runs wild, but Bears comeback falls short– 5/15/20

The Bears scored 21 unanswered points in the fourth quarter and forced overtime behind a huge effort from Trubisky ($10,000; 32.98 DKFP), who ran for 139 yards and a touchdown while throwing for 177 yards and a second score. He connected with Tarik Cohen ($2,800; 10.5 DKFP) for the game-tying touchdown on fourth down with just seconds left in the game. Unfortunately for the Bears, the Panthers started overtime with the ball and marched down the field for a game-winning touchdown to Curtis Samuel ($6,200; 9.6 DKFP), who didn’t have a catch in regulation. To build that 21-point lead, the Panthers’ DST ($3,200; 17 DKFP) returned two fumbles forced by Luke Kuechly for touchdowns.

49ers come back to narrowly defeat Bears in Madden simulation– 5/18/20

You almost had to assume that a game between San Francisco and Chicago was going to be a defensive struggle; and that’s pretty much exactly what we got on Monday night. By the time it was over, the 49ers had failed to score a single offensive touchdown, yet the team emerged victorious by a score of 15-14. So, who was the breakout fantasy star of this hard-fought tilt? Robbie Gould ($3,800; 19.0 DKFP), of course. The veteran kicker nailed five field goals, including a 41-yarder to put things away with just seconds left in the fourth quarter. For the Bears, Allen Robinson ($9,800; 25.9 DKFP) had a fantastic showing, collecting six catches, 109 yards and a touchdown.

Quarterbacks run wild in Bears’ Madden sim victory over Ravens– 5/20/20

We expected Lamar Jackson ($11,600; 30.22 DKFP) to have a big game on the ground, as he had exactly 123 yards and a touchdown both rushing and passing. But we might not have expected to see an even bigger game running the ball from Mitchell Trubisky ($10,600; 35.44 DKFP), who reached the end zone three times on top of his 82 yards, not to mention 231 passing yards. Trubisky was 12% owned at captain, where he dropped 53.16 DKFP on the winning lineup, also helping the Bears to a somewhat surprising 26-21 win.

Bears win, 17-14, on late field goal– 5/23/20

It was a low-scoring game in sim land and with both teams going with a run first approach, there weren’t a ton of total plays in this contest. In the end, it was Mitchell Trubisky ($10,800; 20.16 DKFP) who was able to lead the Bears to a victory. He orchestrated a game-winning drive as the time expired. Trey Burton ($7,200; 12.2 DKFP) was his primary target, finishing with five catches for 72 yards. As the 17-14 final score indicates, there wasn’t a ton of fantasy production in this game.

Trio of TD tosses by Mitchell Trubisky helps Bears tame Bills– 5/27/20

In a snowy start to wild weather Wednesday, the Bears cruised to a 24-14 win behind another big game from Mitchell Trubisky ($10,400; 28.9 DKFP), who threw for three scores and 180 yards while running for an additional 97 yards, falling just short of the bonus. Two of those three scores went to Allen Robinson ($10,000; 30.6 DKFP), who did get the bonus with 106 yards on his five catches. Taylor Gabriel ($7,000; 12.4 DKFP) caught the other score, while the Bills two touchdowns were both rushing scores, one from QB Josh Allen ($10,800; 19.62 DKFP) and one from Devin Singletary ($8,800; 17.1 DKFP).

Mitch Trubisky heads Chicago win over Dallas, 27-24– 5/29/20

In this Madden simulation, the Bears were able to win a relatively high-scoring game against the Cowboys. Trubisky (CPT; $15,300) led the way with over 300 total yards and three total touchdowns. He finished the game with 47.04 DKFP. For Dallas, Dak Prescott ($11,000) did his best to get his team a win. He threw for three touchdowns and had 288 total yards, good for 26.64 DKFP. The rest of the winning lineup contained Ezekiel Elliott ($8,800), Taylor Gabriel ($6,600), Michael Gallup ($6,200), and Blake Jarwin ($2,000). It was a three-way tie for first place.

Bears offense gets lost in the snow as Jets soar– 6/2/20
Everybody was high on Mitchell Trubisky ($10,600; 8.7 DKFP) coming into this matchup since he had been so good in these sims, but the entire offense looked lost in the blizzard that descended on virtual Chicago. He saved a little bit of production with a late TD to Allen Robinson ($10,200; 9.4 DKFP), but other than that it was all Jets, who cruised to a 30-10 win. Sam Darnold ($10,800; 17.16) threw for two scores and 204 passing yards, and Le’Veon Bell ($9,600; 20.70) had a long touchdown run and hit the bonus with 117 yards. The Jets’ DST ($3,600; 13 DKFP) also came to play with three sacks, two interceptions and a fumble recovery.

Mitch Trubisky throws for three touchdowns in 21-14 win over Dolphins– 6/5/20
Trubisky ($10,400/$15,600) who has been doing a ton of damage on the ground with his legs, went through the air in this contest to take down the Dolphins. With 192 passing yards, he threw for three touchdowns while only rushing for 12, giving him 20.88 DKFP. It’s the second straight game he rushed for under 20 yards, as he had 70 and 97 in the two games prior. The X-Factor in this game was a 1.3% owned Adam Shaheen ($2,200), who made just his 11th and 12th reception in these simulations but did so for a touchdown and 32 yards. His 11.2 DKFP help vault anyone who rostered him near the top of the leaderboard, as he was found in the winning lineups.

Allen Robinson and the Bears rally, but can’t catch the Patriots in 28-21 loss– 6/8/20
The Patriots sprinted out to a 28-0 lead behind two long passing touchdowns from Tom Brady ($11,000; 22.28 DKFP) to Julian Edelman ($9,400; 17.5 DKFP) and Mohamed Sanu ($5,800; 14.8 DKFP), along with a defensive fumble recovery returned for a touchdown by the Patriots’ DST ($4,200; 10 DKFP). After trailing 28-3 at the half, the Bears played much better in the second half. In their attempt to rally, Mitchell Trubisky ($9,800; 28.7 DKFP) finished with over 300 yards and two passing touchdowns along with 45 rushing yards and a two-point conversion. The biggest fantasy star of the day turned out to be Allen Robinson ($10,000; 34.5 DKFP) who ended up catches six passes for 135 yards and both of the Bears two touchdowns in this contest.
