Raiders comeback bid against the Broncos falls short — 4/4/20
In one of the higher scoring Madden sims we have seen, the Broncos topped the Raiders by a final score of 21-14. Oakland had a chance to comeback and ended up getting stopped inside the 5-yard line on the final drive of the game. In a comeback effort, the Raiders’ passing game put up strong numbers. Derek Carr ($10,000; 18.72 DKFP) threw for 293 yards and his primary target was Tyrell Williams ($9,600). He finished with over 100 yards and 21.9 DKFP. The top scorer in the game was Darren Waller ($8,200; 23.1 DKFP) as he caught a pair of touchdowns. For Denver, Drew Lock ($9,200; 19.56 DKFP) had three touchdown passes in the win.
Tyrell Williams goes bonkers in a double-overtime Madden sim victory over the Bills — 4/8/20
This game got off to a pretty slow start, but it was madness down the stretch during Oakland’s eventual 22-16 win in 2OT. Derek Carr ($11,200; 25.76 DKFP) shredded Buffalo’s secondary, throwing for 394 yards and a pair of touchdowns. Both scores, including the walk-off-winner which went to Tyrell Williams ($10,000; 42.8 DKFP), who wound up posting a ridiculous 6-215-2 line. Williams was obviously the Captain on the winning showdown roster, where he was good for 64.2 DKFP. Josh Allen ($10,600; 14.18 DKFP) was somehow fantasy relevant, despite throwing for just 32 yards. His 69 rushing yards plus a rushing TD saved his day in the loss.
Lions hold on for 21-19 win over the Raiders on Sunday afternoon Madden Stream — 4/11/20
The Raiders gifted the Lions three points just before halftime with a penalty on a Hail Mary, but then the defense stiffened and Matthew Stafford ($10,200; 19.28 DKFP) threw two more touchdowns in the second half to lead them to a 21-19 win. The Raiders scored a late touchdown and had a two-point conversion attempt that fell short when Derek Carr ($10,000; 18.08 DKFP) threw an inaccurate bullet pass. The fantasy star of the game was Raiders TE Darren Waller ($8,400; 35.7 DKFP), who hauled in nine passes for 177 yards and a touchdown. As a Captain’s Pick, Waller delivered a massive 53.55 DKFP and led the winning lineup which also included Kenny Golladay ($9,600; 26 DKFP), who had five catches for 105 yards and a touchdown.
Odell Beckham leads Browns past Raiders in Madden simulation — 4/15/20
Beckham ($10,200; 49.4 DKFP) silenced Wednesday’s trade rumors (virtually) by going off against the Raiders. OBJ finished with a 10-184-3 line, and while he was 57.8% owned on the showdown slate, he was captained in just 9.7% of lineups — where he dropped an insane 74.1 DKFP. He accounted for nearly all of Baker Mayfield’s ($10.400; 23.28 DKFP) production through the air, helping carry Brown’s stacks. David Njoku ($7,000; 13.3 DKFP) essentially had the rest of the yards, catching six passes for 73 yards. Zay Jones ($5,000; 16.2 DKFP and Darren Waller ($7,200; 17.5 DKFP) caught the two touchdowns for Oakland.
Bengals’ 41-38 win over Raiders features fantasy points for everyone — 4/22/20
There was no shortage of fantasy points in the Bengals’ 41-38 win in overtime against the Raiders in what was mostly a defense-optional contest. Both QBs went off with Derek Carr ($10,800; 34.64 DKFP) throwing for 391 yards and four TDs and Andy Dalton ($10,000; 29.2 DKFP) putting up 340 passing yards and three TDs. Zay Jones ($5,600; 31.6 DKFP) was the only player with multiple receiving TDs and finished with 106 yards on six catches. Tyler Boyd ($7,400; 31.6 DKFP) almost exactly matched that production with seven catches for 160 yards and a TD. Joe Mixon ($9,000; 27.8 DKFP) had two TDs with 128 rushing yards. John Ross III ($3,600; 28.3 DKFP) and Darren Waller ($7,800; 29.3 DKFP) also got in on the action with over 100 yards and a score.
Leonard Fournette strong, but Raiders top Jags, 23-20, in OT — 4/24/20
This Madden simulation came down to the wire, but ultimately it was the Silver and Black that prevailed over Jacksonville. Leonard Fournette ($8,200) had over 100 total yards and a touchdown, good for 22.2 DKFP. For the Raiders, Tyrell Williams ($9,400) went for 96 yards on seven catches. The rest of the winning lineup for this match contained Derek Carr ($10,800; 16.92 DKFP), Darren Waller ($8,000; 13.00 DKFP), Dede Westbrook ($6,800; 20.20 DKFP) and Foster Moreau ($1,200; 10.70 DKFP).
Falcons edge Raiders in Madden simulation — 4/26/20
It was a game that started off slowly, but by the time Atlanta defeated Oakland 27-24 in OT, we’d all seen our share of offensive fireworks. The biggest performance of the day belonged to Julio Jones ($10,600; 36.4 DKFP), who hauled in seven passes for 144 yards and two touchdowns in the victory. Still, Jones was not alone in lighting up the scoreboard. Matt Ryan ($11,200; 23.2 DKFP) used the extra frame to reach the 300-yard passing bonus; Derek Carr ($10,200; 21.7 DKFP) continued his streak of throwing multiple touchdown passes in each simulation; and Darren Waller ($7,400; 26.4 DKFP) paid off his chalky ownership with a 60-yard hail mary touchdown reception to end the first-half.
Jets defeat Raiders in Wednesday’s simulated matchup — 4/29/20
The Jets narrowly edged the Raiders, 25-23. Sam Darnold ($10,600, 20.54 DKFP) had a big afternoon through the air with 281 passing yards and two touchdowns. Jamison Crowder ($7,600, 30.80 DKFP) was the main beneficiary of Darnold’s strong performance, catching six passes for 128 yards and two touchdowns. Josh Jacobs ($9,000, 14 DKFP) found his way into the end zone for the Raiders to go along with 80 rushing yards in a losing effort.
Raiders earn comeback win over Bears in Madden sim — 5/1/20
The Raiders got it done with a well balanced team effort, as no individual carried the load in the 30-27 victory. Jalen Richard ($2,400; 16.1 DKFP) made for the best value in the sim, rushing for 63 yards and a touchdown, and factoring into the receiving game. Daniel Carlson ($3,800; 13 DKFP) also knocked in three field goals and three extra-points for Oakland. The biggest fantasy impact came on Chicago’s side, as Trey Burton ($7,600; 27.7 DKFP) posted an 8-107-1 line. While Burton posted 41.55 DKFP in the captain spot, the first place lineup captained Mitchell Trubisky ($10,800; 22.32 DKFP), who went for 33.48 DKFP, thanks to 283 yards, two touchdowns and 40 rushing yards.
Raiders hold on to beat Vikings in Madden simulation — 5/7/20
We witnessed a nail-biter this afternoon between Oakland and Minnesota, with the Raiders eventually hanging on for a 24-21 victory. There were more than a few players who came through with decent DFS performances in this one; however, it was Josh Jacobs ($8,200; 23.5 DKFP) finally breaking out that stole the show. Jacobs has clearly been more viable since the switch to eight-minute quarters, but coming into Thursday, he’d still yet to exceed 100 yards on the ground. Well, consider that dubious streak over, as the former first-round pick registered 134 yards and a touchdown. Dalvin Cook ($9,800; 21.2 DKFP) was also good, racking up 102 scrimmage yards and a TD of his own.
Saints make easy work of Raiders in Madden simulation — 5/11/20
Alvin Kamara’s ($9,400; 20.6 DKFP) track record in these Madden simulations has been rather odd. Despite being one of the highest-rated running backs in the game, Kamara’s struggled to find success running the football. In fact, coming into Monday’s slate, the 24-year-old’s lone 100-yard rushing performance came more than a month ago, back before the switch to Arcade Mode and eight-minute quarters. Well, that strange streak ended this evening in New Orleans’ 24-14 victory over Oakland. Kamara was the contest’s high-scorer, collecting 103 yards on the ground with a touchdown. Jared Cook ($7,600; 17.8 DKFP) also found the end zone on one of his seven receptions.
Raiders come out ahead of Seahawks in defensive overtime game– 5/14/20
The final score of this game was 13-10, so there wasn’t much fantasy production to speak of. The one standout performer was Hunter Renfrow ($3,600; 23 DKFP). He had exactly 100 receiving yards and scored a touchdown to reward fantasy players who had faith in the rookie wideout. Renfrow was the top fantasy producer in the game and was only 1.7% owned in the Captain’s spot. In the loss, Russell Wilson ($11,400; 17.6 DKFP) wasn’t able to muster much offense in what should have been an easy matchup. He had just 220 passing yards, bu he rushed for a touchdown to save his stat line.
Raiders upset the Chiefs in overtime– 5/16/20
On paper, this game looked like it should have been one-sided. Kansas City arguably has the best offense in Madden and the Raiders arguably have the worst defense. The prevailing wisdom was that the Chiefs would run away with this one. Instead, the Oakland defense was strong for most of the game. That was until the fourth quarter when KC exploded. Led by the combination of Patrick Mahomes ($11,800; 21 DKFP) and Tyreke Hill ($10,400; 34.2 DKFP), the Chiefs took a late lead. Derek Carr ($10,800; 23.3 DKFP) responded with a game-tying drive and then the Raiders went on to win 27-24 in overtime. Tyrell Williams ($8,600; 25.4 DKFP) did the best work for Oakland, catching a pair of touchdowns in the win.
Saquon Barkley unstoppable in win over Raiders– 5/18/20
In an overtime win, Barkley ($9,600; 30.7 DKFP) was the hero for the Giants. He ripped up the Raiders’ defense for 155 rushing yards and scored a pair of touchdowns to lead New York to a win. Barkley carried the offense with Daniel Jones ($10,200; 17.5 DKFP) only able to muster 185 passing yards. Despite losing, the Raiders turned in some strong value plays in this game. The best of which was Zay Jones ($4,600; 26.8 DKFP), who caught a pair of touchdowns and helped keep the Raiders in the game.
Cardinals escape with a 7-0 win in sloppy game in Oakland– 5/20/20
I guess we can blame it on the rain, but both offenses were totally inept in this contest and combined for a total of zero points. In fact, the Raiders were the only team to enter the red zone. One time, they fumbled the ball and the Cardinals’ DST ($3,800; 23 DKFP) returned it for a touchdown, and time expired before they were able to even get a play off during their second trip to the red zone. The highest scoring player was Tyrell Williams ($9,400; 12.2 DKFP), but he was outscored by the Raiders’ DST ($4,000; 13 DKFP). The Cardinals’ DST was the right Captain’s pick in this offensively-challenged sim. Kyler Murray ($10,600; 4.28 DKFP) threw for only 52 yards, and still left soggy Oakland with the win.
Panthers make easy work of Raiders in Madden simulation — 5/24/20
Cam Newton ($10,200; 29.0 DKFP) hasn’t exactly performed all that well so far in these simulations. In fact, coming into this afternoon’s tilt against the Raiders, Carolina’s quarterback had failed to ever exceed even 20.0 DKFP. Well, that dubious streak would come to an end in the Panthers’ 31-17 victory. Newton was on absolute fire, throwing for 322 yards and three touchdowns in the winning effort. It was the first time in these streams that the former first-overall pick had reached the 300-yard bonus. Christian McCaffrey ($10,400; 33.4 DKFP) also had a fantastic showing, racking up 119 rushing yards and a pair of scores.
Raiders hold on to defeat Packers in Madden simulation — 5/28/20
Tyrell Williams ($8,000; 30.1 DKFP) was one of the most popular plays in the Captain’s slot for Thursday’s Showdown contest between Oakland and Green Bay, with an ownership rate of 10.7%. Well, that group of people were very happy following the Raiders’ 20-14 victory. Williams went off in the win, racking up eight receptions for 131 yards and a touchdown. It’s the wideout’s fifth score in his past five starts and just the second time in these simulations that Williams has surpassed the 30.0 DKFP threshold. His QB, Derek Carr ($11,000; 20.1 DKFP), was also effective, though he’d miss out on the 300-yard passing bonus by just nine yards.
Derek Carr dices up the 49ers’ pass defense — 5/30/20
On paper, this wasn’t how this game was expected to go. Prevailing wisdom was the 49ers wouldn’t have much trouble beating Oakland. That looked like it would be the case early. San Francisco scored the first touchdown of the game less than a minute in on a long run by Tevin Coleman ($8,000; 22.5 DKFP). After that, it was all Oakland. Derek Carr ($10,400; 24.08 DKFP) threw for over 300 yards and had a pair of touchdowns. Those went to Tyrell Williams ($8,200; 22.1 DKFP) and Zay Jones ($5,000; 27.3 DKFP), who both had over 100 receiving yards.
Monster game from Jared Goff leads Rams past Raiders– 6/3/20
This was the wind game on weather Wednesday, which generally complicates things for the passing game. That wasn’t the case for Jared Goff ($10,400; 30.42 DKFP), as the gunslinger went off for 313 yards and four touchdowns. Goff racked up 45.63 DKFP at 9.7% ownership at CPT, where he was rostered in the winning lineup. Cooper Kupp ($9,600; 24.1 DKFP) led the way at WR, bringing in two of those touchdowns, while Tyler Higbee ($6,800; 20 DKFP) posted a 7-70-1 line for the Rams. Hunter Renfrow ($4,600; 18 DKFP) was the top value on the Raiders’ side, catching five passes for 70 yards and a score, despite the 31-27 loss.
Raiders come back late to beat Steelers in Madden simulation– 6/8/20
For three quarters, it looked as if Pittsburgh was going to roll to a relatively easy win over Oakland. However, things changed quickly in the final minutes of what eventually became a 24-17 victory for the Raiders. First, Derek Carr ($10,800; 13.8 DKFP) was able to find Zay Jones ($5,400; 13.1 DKFP) in the middle of the end zone for a game-tying touchdown – Jones’ 11th score in these simulations. Then, with the Steelers driving just before the two-minute warning, Ben Roethlisberger ($11,200; 16.4 DKFP) threw an ill-advised pass than resulted in a pick-six for the Raiders’ DST ($3,400; 13.0 DKFP). It can all happen in the blink of an eye.
