Patriots slide by Dolphins in double-OT — 4/3/20

New England and Miami met on the Madden virtual gridiron, and it was a real battle that went down to the bitter end. Ultimately the Patriots won, 19-13, in double overtime on a Mohamed Sanu ($7,800) touchdown. Sanu finished with 14.3 DKFP. The star of the show was TE Ben Watson ($5,800), who went for 142 yards on a whopping 10 receptions, good for 27.2 DKFP. The winning sim lineup featured Watson as the captain, with Tom Brady ($11,000), Julian Edelman ($10,400), Patrick Laird ($1,000), Devante Parker ($10,000) and James White ($8,600).

Dolphins blowout the Colts to open up Monday Madden tripleheader — 4/6/20

Not many times during the NFL regular season could we say that Ryan Fitzpatrick ($10,400) and the Dolphins looked unstoppable. This was the case this afternoon. Fitzpatrick had four total touchdowns and scored a game-high 29.4 DKFP as Miami topped the Colts, 28-10. The targets were spread around as DeVante Parker ($9,400; 17.9 DKFP), Albert Wilson ($7,000; 16.9 DKFP) and Mike Gesicki ($7,800; 17 DKFP) all caught touchdowns. Apparently April is the time to build Dolphins’ stacks.

Kalen Ballage and the Dolphins run away from Browns in OT, 23-17 — 4/13/20

The Dolphins knocked off the previously undefeated Browns in Cleveland after a long overtime touchdown run by Ballage ($6,600; 16.3 DKFP), who finished with a solid 93 yards on the ground. DeVante Parker ($9,200; 22.1 DKFP) had another huge game, putting up 22.1 DKFP with a touchdown and over 100 yards receiving. He was the Captain’s Pick in the winning lineup and 17.4% of lineups. Ryan Fitzpatrick ($9,600; 17.9 DKFP) and Mike Gesicki ($7,200; 11.6 DKFP) also had solid games for Miami, while former Dolphin Jarvis Landry ($8,000; 16.7 DKFP) had seven catches for 97 yards for the Browns. Both Damion Ratley ($3,200; 12.1 DKFP) and Jakeem Grant ($3,400; 11.3 DKFP) both provided good value from their WR3 spots.

Bengals defeat Dolphins in Wednesday afternoon Madden stream — 4/15/20

The Bengals shut down the Dolphins in their simulated matchup, winning 20-7. It was a big afternoon for John Ross III ($4,400, 18.3 DKFP), who caught five passes for 73 yards and a touchdown. Giovani Bernard ($3,200, 10.3 DKFP) also provided some cheap production thanks to him registering a rushing touchdown. On the losing side, Mike Gesicki ($7,800, 13.8 DKFP) had a productive afternoon for the Dolphins with six receptions for 78 yards.

Chargers survive Dolphins’ late push to hang on for 31-24 win — 4/21/20

Tuesday’s LA-Miami simulation was an all-out passing explosion, with three WRs topping 100 yards by the time the final whistle blew. The Chargers outlasted the Dolphins, 31-24, stopping a late drive that could have sent the game to OT. Mike Williams ($7,400; 33.4 DKFP) and Keenan Allen ($10,000; 30.9 DKFP) both topped the century mark and scored twice for the winners, but it was the Dolphins’ Devante Parker ($9,200; 33.5 DKFP) who led the game in yards and fantasy scoring, logging 175 yards and one TD on his seven catches. Phillip Rivers ($11,000; 26.6 DKFP) finished with 265 yards to go along with his four passing TDs.

Dolphins top Panthers in Madden simulation — 4/24/20

With one of the worst rushing attacks in the Madden game, Miami is almost forced to air it out, and it can play to its favor. Ryan Fitzpatrick ($10,200; 20.6 DKFP) aired it out for 245 yards and and pair of touchdowns, tacking on 28 rushing yards. Mike Gesicki ($7,800; 20.9 DKFP) was the main target, posing a 6-89-1 line, and recorded 31.35 DKFP in the captain spot of the winning lineup. DeVante Parker ($9,600; 17.7 DKFP) hauled in four passes for 77 yards and a score, and the rest of the scoring in the 23-14 victory came in the kicking game. Greg Olsen ($8,400; 18.2 DKFP) and DJ Moore ($9,200; 14 DKFP) caught the touchdowns in a losing effort for Carolina.

Chark Attack! Jaguars hold off late Dolphins rally to win 24-17 — 4/26/20

The Jaguars got off to a fast start and held on to beat their in-state rival Miami on Sunday afternoon in a Madden simulation. D.J. Chark Jr. ($9,200; 32.4 DKFP) came up huge for the Jaguars, catching two touchdowns and totaling 117 yards on six catches. His QB Gardner Minshew ($10,400; 22.8 DKFP) threw three touchdowns total with 275 yards, while Leonard Fournette ($8,800; 11.7 DKFP) contributed 76 rushing yards and 21 receiving yards. In the loss, speedster Jakeem Grant ($4,800; 30.5 DKFP) had a huge game for Miami with 165 yards and a touchdown on five catches, while Mike Gesicki ($8,000; 11.6 DKFP) caught the late score from Ryan Fitzpatrick ($10,800; 22.16 DKFP), giving both solid totals overall.

Redskins get second win of sims by beating the Dolphins, 16-10 — 5/2/20

The Redskins got a nice road win in virtual Miami in the first Madden stream of the day behind three FGs from Dustin Hopkins ($4,000; 11 DKFP). The one Washington touchdown was scored by Jordan Reed ($8,200; 14.3 DKFP), but it was Derrius Guice ($8,800; 14.3 DKFP) who did the work down the stretch with over 100 yards rushing, all in the second half. For the Dolphins, unowned Chandler Cox ($1,000; 6.1 DKFP) vultured the touchdown while Mike Gesicki ($7,800; 18.7 DKFP) fell just short of the 100-yard bonus after catching the final pass of the game and getting stopped at 97 yards on nine catches in the contest.

Jakeem Grant’s big game not enough as Dolphins come up short against Lions– 5/4/20

Grant ($3,600; 32.1 DKFP) did everything for the Dolphins this afternoon, turning in one of the best value performances we have seen in our Madden simulations. Miami scored two touchdowns and Grant scored them both. One was a receiving score and the other was a kick return touchdown. In addition, he went for over 100 receiving yards. Unfortunately for the Dolphins, nobody else produced anything of value. Matt Stafford ($11,400; 20.14 DKFP) threw for over 300 yards and his primary target was Marvin Jones ($8,400; 15.1 DKFP), who hauled in six catches for 91 yards.

Kalen Ballage scores twice as Dolphins take down Cardinals 17-10– 5/8/20

The score indicates a game that didn’t have much offense and if you didn’t have Ballage ($6,600), which many didn’t judging by his 7.5% ownership in Showdown mode, you likely weren’t adding any DK Dollars to your account. Ballage only rushed for 53 yards but he did score twice, earning him 17.3 DKFP and 25.95 in the captain spot. DeVante Parker ($10,400) was getting the most love from Ryan Fitzpatrick ($10,800) as the WR1 made six catches for 73 yards and 13.3 DKFP. Over for the Cardinals, David Johnson ($3,000) continues to show the love at his severely underpriced salary, scoring 11.7 DKFP with 41 rushing yards and six catches.

Steelers edge Dolphins 16-14 in Monday simulation — 5/11/20

Minkah Fitzpatrick’s new teammates barely beat his former club as the Steelers got the 16-14 win in virtual Miami in the first game of Monday’s slate. James Conner ($8,600; 13.6 DKFP) had a big game for the Steelers running for 106 yards but failing to get into the end zone. Vance McDonald ($7,800; 11.9 DKFP) had Pittsburgh’s lone touchdown while Chris Boswell ($4,600; 11 DKFP) knocked in three FGs. McDonald’s fellow TE Mike Gesicki ($8,000; 19.5 DKFP) had a big game in the loss for Miami, piling up 106 yards and a touchdown on his six catches. Albert Wilson ($5,600; 11.5 DKFP) also caught a touchdown from Ryan Fitzpatrick ($10,400; 16.16 DKFP), but there wasn’t quite enough magic for Miami’s comeback in this contest.

Titans’ defense cannot contain Mike Gesicki– 5/13/20

This game was fairly one-sided most of the way. The Dolphins led the Titans 20-0 in the fourth quarter although Tennessee did put a couple of fourth-quarter touchdowns on the board to make the game interesting. Miami held on to win 20-15. Gesicki ($7,800; 24.9 DKFP) accounted for most of the Dolphins’ offense. He accounted for 139 of their 234 receiving yards and also scored a touchdown. As a value play, fantasy darling Patrick Laird ($1,000; 13.3 DKFP) ended up being a slate breaker. He had 53 total yards and scored a touchdown to be a difference-maker at low ownership.

Bills outlast Dolphins in Madden simulation– 5/17/20

Well, that was about as ugly as I think we all expected it would be. In a contest between two teams with terrible offenses, Buffalo eventually defeated Miami by a score of 11-10 in virtual Hard Rock Stadium. In general, fantasy success was hard to find in this one, but a few players did mercifully make their way onto the scoresheet. Josh Allen ($11,200; 17.8 DKFP) claimed the Bills’ lone touchdown of the afternoon, scampering into the end zone for his fourth rushing TD in Buffalo’s past four games. Despite being vultured by his quarterback, Devin Singletary ($8,800; 16.7 DKFP) was also decent in this tilt, finishing up with seven catches and 97 scrimmage yards.

Dolphins outlast Eagles in Madden simulation– 5/19/20

Miami just doesn’t play in high-scoring simulations, but things still worked out pretty well for Miles Sanders ($9,200; 24.1 DKFP) in Philadelphia’s 16-14 loss. Though the rookie RB couldn’t quite get to the bonus, he still finished with four receptions, 141 scrimmage yards and a touchdown for what was easily the best stat line in an underwhelming offensive affair. However, that’s not to suggest that the Dolphins didn’t have a few standout players of their own. DeVante Parker ($8,800; 15.3 DKFP) was able to find the end zone for only his second receiving TD in Miami’s past nine streams; while Jason Sanders ($4,000; 11.0 DKFP) hit three field goals, including the game-winner with four seconds left in regulation.

Ronald Jones II breaks out as Bucs blast past the Dolphins– 5/22/20

Jones ($7,800; 29.5 DKFP) was only averaging 6.5 DKFP, but went off for a huge game against his cross-state rivals from Miami. The Bucs cruised to a 28-13 win behind his 145 rushing yards and two touchdowns. Jameis Winston ($10,800; 12.68 DKFP) threw two touchdowns, but only for 117 yards. One score went to Chris Godwin ($8,800; 14.6 DKFP) and O.J. Howard ($8,200; 9.4 DKFP) hauled in the other touchdown. In a losing effort for Miami, Mike Gesicki ($7,200; 17.3 DKFP) led the way while Kalen Ballage ($6,500; 8.2 DKFP) had the team’s touchdown.

Vikings throttle Dolphins in Madden simulation– 5/24/20

It might be strange to say this about a game Miami would eventually lose 27-11, but the biggest play from tonight’s stream was a DeVante Parker ($9,000; 18.9 DKFP) fourth quarter touchdown. To that point, no one on the Dolphins had exceeded even 10.0 DKFP, yet that one reception changed the slate entirely. Suddenly, Parker was in possession of 99 yards receiving and he was a fixture in all winning lineups. Of course, Minnesota had some DFS standouts, too. Adam Thielen ($8,600; 22.1 DKFP) reached the bonus with seven catches for 106 yards, while Dalvin Cook ($9,400; 15.9 DKFP) finished the victory with 80 rushing yards and a touchdown of his own.

Falcons win shootout with Dolphins 38-35– 5/28/20

This Madden simulation was incredibly high-scoring and produced tons of fantasy goodness. DeVante Parker (CPT; $14,100) almost won this game by himself. He had over 200 yards receiving and two touchdowns, resulting in a whopping 67.2 DKFP in the captain spot. Matt Ryan ($11,400) keyed the Falcons’ win, passing for 313 yards and four scores. He finished with 31.52 DKFP. The rest of the winning lineup contained Ryan Fitzpatrick ($10,600), Devonta Freeman ($8,600), Clive Walford ($2,000), and Justin Hardy ($1,800). Walford came in at just 1% ownership, and resulted in a unique winner.

Dolphins upset Seahawks in Madden simulation — 5/31/20

Well, that didn’t go the way I’m sure a lot of people expected it to go. Miami jumped out to an early 14-0 lead and never really looked back in its 24-21 victory over Seattle on Sunday. Leading the charge for the Dolphins was DeVante Parker ($9,600; 26.2 DKFP), who finished the contest with four catches for 132 yards and the eventual game-winning touchdown. Still, despite the loss, the Seahawks’ two best offensive players still managed to get their stats. Russell Wilson ($11,000; 30.6 DKFP) threw for 349 yards and three scores, with two of those TDs hauled in by Tyler Lockett ($10,400, 33.2 DKFP). The wideout would wind up with seven receptions for 122 yards overall.

Chiefs dominate Dolphins in Madden sim — 6/2/20

It wasn’t a classic offensive outburst by Patrick Mahomes ($12,200; 17.82 DKFP) and the Chiefs, but they did enough to get the job done in the 20-7 victory. Mahomes threw two touchdowns, with Sammy Watkins ($6,800; 12.2 DKFP) and Travis Kelce ($8,800; 28.3 DKFP) reaching the end zone. Kelce had seven receptions for 123 yards, going for 42.45 DKFP in the CPT spot of the winning lineup. Patrick Laird ($1,000; 12.9 DKFP) was the lone bright spot for the Dolphins, catching seven passes out of the backfield.

Mitch Trubisky throws for three touchdowns in 21-14 win over Dolphins– 6/5/20
Trubisky ($10,400/$15,600) who has been doing a ton of damage on the ground with his legs, went through the air in this contest to take down the Dolphins. With 192 passing yards, he threw for three touchdowns while only rushing for 12, giving him 20.88 DKFP. It’s the second straight game he rushed for under 20 yards, as he had 70 and 97 in the two games prior. The X-Factor in this game was a 1.3% owned Adam Shaheen ($2,200), who made just his 11th and 12th reception in these simulations but did so for a touchdown and 32 yards. His 11.2 DKFP help vault anyone who rostered him near the top of the leaderboard, as he was found in the winning lineups.

Saints get two touchdowns from Ted Ginn Jr. to defeat the Dolphins– 6/7/20

The Saints were able to get the 24-10 win in Miami despite a disappointing showing by WR1 Michael Thomas ($10,800; 4.5 DKFP) thanks to a pair of scores from WR2 Ted Ginn Jr. ($5,400; 22.9 DKFP). Ginn had just his two touchdowns catches for 89 yards while Alvin Kamara ($9,600; 20.1 DKFP) actually did most of the heavy lifting, running for 117 yards and adding two catches for 34 yards, but he wasn’t able to add a touchdown to complete his monster game. In the loss, DeVante Parker ($9,200; 20.0 DKFP) had another big game, which could have been even better if he hadn’t been stopped at the one-yard line on the final play of the game.
