Jets shut down Bills in AFC East Madden Simulation — 4/1/20

There wasn’t much offense to speak of when the Jets took on the Bills in Wednesday’s 1:00 p.m. ET Madden Simulation. In fact, the Bills didn’t register a single point in their 19-0 defeat. The Jets’ D/ST ($4,200, 18 DKFP) was dominant for those at the top of the leaderboard, registering four sacks and two fumble recoveries. While the Jets’ D/ST was a big winner, both Sam Darnold ($10,200, 12.84 DKFP) and Josh Allen ($10,400, 7.36 DKFP) put up disappointing performances.

Tyrell Williams goes bonkers in a double-overtime Madden sim victory over the Bills — 4/8/20

This game got off to a pretty slow start, but it was madness down the stretch during Oakland’s eventual 22-16 win in 2OT. Derek Carr ($11,200; 25.76 DKFP) shredded Buffalo’s secondary, throwing for 394 yards and a pair of touchdowns. Both scores, including the walk-off-winner which went to Tyrell Williams ($10,000; 42.8 DKFP), who wound up posting a ridiculous 6-215-2 line. Williams was obviously the Captain on the winning showdown roster, where he was good for 64.2 DKFP. Josh Allen ($10,600; 14.18 DKFP) was somehow fantasy relevant, despite throwing for just 32 yards. His 69 rushing yards plus a rushing TD saved his day in the loss.

Bills beat Bengals on late Cole Beasley touchdown — 4/11/20

In one of the more dramatic Madden sims we have seen, Josh Allen ($10,800; 10.98 DKFP) tossed a late touchdown to Beasley ($9,000) to seal a 17-13 comeback win over the Bengals. The late score gave Beasley a game-high 17.1 DKFP. The Bills’ only other touchdown came from an unexpected source — the ageless Frank Gore ($2,200). He only had four rushing yards, but the vulture TD made him a solid value with 6.4 DKFP. The Bengals got their only touchdown from Joe Mixon ($8,400). His 9.9 DKFP was the highest total for Cincy.

Titans rally past Bills in Madden simulation — 4/19/20

If there’s been a consistent theme to taking down these Madden contests, it’s been finding the right value at wide receiver. This afternoon, it was actually about finding the right values. Tennessee defeated Buffalo by a score of 23-13 on Sunday, with a late touchdown by Adam Humphries ($3,400; 10.9 DKFP) acting as the finishing blow. However, Humphries wasn’t the only low-end WR that made some noise. Teammate Corey Davis ($6,000; 15.2 DKFP) finished the game with three receptions for 62 yards and a touchdown, while Robert Foster ($3,600; 15.5 DKFP) – who was just 7.3% owned in Showdown – registered four catches for 55 yards and a touchdown of his own.

Balanced Eagles attack leads to simulated victory — 4/28/20

Both WR Alshon Jeffery ($9,800; 20.8 DKFP) and RB Miles Sanders ($7,000; 21 DKFP) scored as the Eagles beat out the Bills, 27-24, in overtime Tuesday. Jeffery caught seven passes for 77 yards and rushed for one. Sanders ran for 55 yards and reached the end zone both on the ground and via kick return. The Bills had several fantasy high-fliers of their own, led by QB Josh Allen ($10,600; 25.24 DKFP). Allen scored two rushing TDs and threw for 211 yards. Devin Singletary ($7,200; 20.8 DKFP) logged 98 combined yards and scored on the ground, while Josh Brown ($9,200; 19 DKFP) caught six passes for an even 100 yards.

Texans outlast Bills in Madden simulation– 5/1/20

In a contest that didn’t feature a lot of points, it’s not surprising that the best players still managed to climb to the top of the leaderboard. Houston took down Buffalo by a score of 23-13 to close out another full day of Madden streams on DraftKings; and you’d better believe that Deshaun Watson ($11,600; 19.7 DKFP) was at the center of the action. The Clemson product threw for a pair of touchdown, but, maybe more importantly, Watson also racked up 61 rushing yards. However, the pivot wasn’t operating completely alone, as DeAndre Hopkins ($10,400; 15.9 DKFP) was able to register 69 receiving yards along with a trip to the end zone.

49ers make easy work of Bills in Madden simulation– 5/3/20

That one wasn’t even close. Like, not even for a second. From the opening kickoff till the end of the fourth quarter, San Francisco absolutely demolished Buffalo, eventually taking this stream by a final score of 31-6. Heck, that score might not even do this tilt justice. To wit, Josh Allen ($10,400; 5.0 DKFP) was held to 51 passing yards and, if we’re being completely honest, he probably should’ve thrown at least three interceptions. It was bad. Conversely, the 49ers’ offense moved the ball at will. Jimmy Garoppolo ($10,800; 21.8 DKFP) passed for 245 yards and three touchdowns, while Tevin Coleman ($8,400; 24.5 DKFP) racked up an impressive 155 rushing yards and a TD of his own.

Ravens run to victory over Bills– 5/5/20

Art mirrored life Tuesday night, assuming a simulated Ravens game qualifies as “art.” Just like during the regular season, Lamar Jackson ($12,400; 22.6 DKFP) and the Ravens’ rushing game led to an easy victory over an AFC opponent. Jackson threw for 125 yards and ran for another 86, scoring both on the ground and through the air. The biggest different between this game and 2019 was that Lamar wasn’t actually the best fantasy play – that title belonged to teammate Mark Ingram ($9,800; 23.9 DKFP), who ran for 125 yards and a TD. And, typical of the Bills, though the final score was relatively close, no one was a particularly good DFS play, as no one from Buffalo topped 14 DKFP.

Bills hold on against Broncos in Madden simulation– 5/8/20

You were certainly right to question the viability of Josh Allen ($10,800; 28.8 DKFP) coming into this slate. Not only had the former first-round pick managed a putrid 94.3 passing yards per game across his past three starts, but he was the most expensive player on either roster. Not exactly an enticing combination. However, it was clear early on in this one that we were dealing with a different version of Allen. The pivot ran in a pair of touchdowns and threw for another in Buffalo’s 28-23 victory over Denver. All told, it was just the second time in these simulations that’s Allen had exceeded even 15.0 DKFP. Any given sim day, right?

Kyler Murray leads the Cardinals to an overtime win over the Bills– 5/11/20

The reigning Offensive Rookie of the Year had himself quite the day in Madden. Playing against a tough Buffalo defense, Murray ($10,600; 30.04 DKFP) rushed for 78 yards and had three passing touchdowns. Of those touchdown passes, one went to Damiere Byrd ($4,800; 27.8 DKFP) who also added seven catches for 118 yards. In a losing effort, the Bills’ offense was carried by the Josh Allen ($10,800; 21.14 DKFP) to Tyler Kroft ($6,200; 25.5 DKFP) combination. Allen had 274 passing yards and Kroft hauled in five catches for 115 yards.

Falcons outlast 24-20 against Buffalo– 5/14/20

Atlanta managed to beat the Bills in this Madden simulation, with Calvin Ridley ($6,600) leading the way. He caught eight balls for 118 yards and a touchdown, scoring 28.8 DKFP. For Buffalo, it was Josh Allen ($15,900 CPT) who did his best to get the team a win. He scored a touchdown passing and rushing, scoring 36.33 DKFP in the captain spot. The rest of the winning lineup contained Matt Ryan ($11,400), John Brown ($9,800), Tyler Kroft ($5,200), and Jaeden Graham ($1,000). Graham was just 1% owned, leading to a solo-winner.

Bills outlast Dolphins in Madden simulation– 5/17/20

Well, that was about as ugly as I think we all expected it would be. In a contest between two teams with terrible offenses, Buffalo eventually defeated Miami by a score of 11-10 in virtual Hard Rock Stadium. In general, fantasy success was hard to find in this one, but a few players did mercifully make their way onto the scoresheet. Josh Allen ($11,200; 17.8 DKFP) claimed the Bills’ lone touchdown of the afternoon, scampering into the end zone for his fourth rushing TD in Buffalo’s past four games. Despite being vultured by his quarterback, Devin Singletary ($8,800; 16.7 DKFP) was also decent in this tilt, finishing up with seven catches and 97 scrimmage yards.

Chargers stomp the Bills in first game of the Tuesday slate– 5/20/20

This game was not particularly competitive as the Chargers won by a final score of 35-18. Whether it was running or passing, Los Angeles didn’t have much of an issue moving the ball down the field and cashing in touchdowns. The best value in the game was Austin Ekeler ($2,800; 18.5 DKFP). The Chargers’ second back rushed for a pair of touchdowns and scored 18.5 DKFP. They also lead by enough that Melvin Gordon ($6,600; 19.1 DKFP) was able to get touches of his own and he went for over 100 yards rushing with the Chargers grinding out the clock late. The Bills also had no answer for Keenan Allen ($11,400; 27.2 DKFP). He hauled in five catches for 132 yards and scored a touchdown.

The Bills barrel past the Jaguars 28-12– 5/23/20

The Bills DST ($3,400; 16 DKFP) and Josh Allen ($11,000; 26.08 DKFP) led the Bills to just their fourth win in our full season’s worth of sims. Allen threw for 147 yards and three touchdowns while also running for 94 more yards. The Bills’ D has a pair of sacks, an interceptions, a fumble recovery and a defensive touchdown. Cole Beasley ($7,800; 15.1 DKFP) was the top Bills WR, and Robert Foster ($3,600; 8.4 DKFP) and TE2 Dawson Knox ($2,000; 7.3 DKFP) were good values with their touchdowns. For the Jags, D.J. Chark ($9,000; 10.9 DKFP) had the only touchdown.

Seahawks romp in Tuesday simulation– 5/26/20

Russell Wilson ($12,000; 22.96 DKFP) led the way as Seattle cruised to a 17-3 win over the Bills in Tuesday’s simulation. Russ single-handedly accounted for pretty much all of the game’s offensive production, throwing for 174 yards and two TDs while rushing for another 80 yards. The only other players with more than 12 DKFP were his top receivers, Tyler Lockett ($10,400; 20.1 DKFP) and DK Metcalf ($6,600; 15.2 DKFP). Lockett racked up 90 yards, while Metcalf ended up with 52, and both scored. The leading scorer for the Bills was Robert Foster ($4,200; 11.1 DKFP), who caught four passes for 71 yards.

Trio of TD tosses by Mitchell Trubisky helps Bears tame Bills– 5/27/20

In a snowy start to wild weather Wednesday, the Bears cruised to a 24-14 win behind another big game from Mitchell Trubisky ($10,400; 28.9 DKFP), who threw for three scores and 180 yards while running for an additional 97 yards, falling just short of the bonus. Two of those three scores went to Allen Robinson ($10,000; 30.6 DKFP), who did get the bonus with 106 yards on his five catches. Taylor Gabriel ($7,000; 12.4 DKFP) caught the other score, while the Bills two touchdowns were both rushing scores, one from QB Josh Allen ($10,800; 19.62 DKFP) and one from Devin Singletary ($8,800; 17.1 DKFP).

Five field goals for Stephen Hauschka is the difference in win over Giants– 5/30/20

It’s not often that we can highlight a kicker as the star of a game. In this game, Hauschka ($4,000; 18 DKFP) was the hero for the Bills. He sent all five of his field goal attempts through the uprights as the team struggled to get the ball across the goal line. Buffalo’s only touchdown came courtesy of a run from Josh Allen ($10,800; 20.86 DKFP). For the Giants, Daniel Jones ($10,600; 18.8 DKFP) amassed 295 passing yards in the loss. Just like in real life, a fumble from Jones was a huge issue for New York. His rookie season was filled with turnover woes.

Kerryon Johnson leads Lions to simulated win over Bills– 6/2/20

The Lions’ 24-17 simulated win over the Bills Tuesday yielded plenty of good fantasy performances, but few great ones. Johnson ($8,800; 18.2 DKFP) fared the best, catching a 55-yard TD for his only reception on top of 57 yards of rushing. Matt Stafford ($11,200; 17.72 DKFP) was the game’s next-leading scorer, with a run-of-the-mill 193 passing yards and two TDs. Meanwhile, the Bills were led by WR Rueben Foster ($3,400; 16.9 DKFP) and RB Frank Gore ($2,600; 13.8 DKFP), each of whom scored once.

Redskins outlast Bills in three overtime Madden sim marathon– 6/4/20

This Madden simulation between Washington and the Bills took three overtimes to settle, but the away team managed to edge out a 20-17 win. Derrius Guice (CPT; $13,200) carried the mail for the Redskins in this one, totaling 171 yards and a touchdown. He scored 42.15 DKFP in the captain spot. For Buffalo, Josh Allen ($10,800) did his best to get the win. He ran for the Bills’ two touchdowns, and totaled 25.9 DKFP. The rest of the winning lineup contained Devin Singletary ($8,200), Jordan Reed ($7,200), Tyler Kroft ($6,200), and Dustin Hopkins ($4,200). Guice was a contrarian captain at just 0.6%, leading to a solo winner.

Cowboys clutch comeback culminates with Cooper’s winning catch– 6/6/20

The Cowboys trailed the entire game after the Bills jumped out to a 14-0 lead in the first half, but their last-minute drive ended with a touchdowns catch by Amari Cooper ($10,600; 12.5 DKFP). Dak Prescott ($11,200; 15.58 DKFP) also threw a touchdown to Randall Cobb ($5,000; 7.4 DKFP) but only managed 92 passing yards and threw two interceptions in an underwhelming performance. Ezekiel Elliott ($9,800; 18.4 DKFP) came up just one yard short of the 100-yard bonus but did add two catches for five yards. In the loss, the Bills got good games from Tyler Kroft ($5,800; 14.0 DKFP), John Brown ($8,600; 14.9 DKFP), Devin Singletary ($7,600; 12.5 DKFP) and Josh Allen ($10,400; 19.44 DKFP).

Josh Allen leads Bills to dominant simulated win– 6/9/20

Allen ($10,800; 31.38 DKFP) and the Bills made easy work of the Packers in Tuesday’s simulated 27-9 win. Allen was effective in the passing game with 183 yards and a TD, but he was most effective on the ground – rushing for 109 yards and a score. The game’s next biggest scorer was the recipient of that lone TD pass, TE Tyler Kroft ($5,200; 17 DKFP), who also hauled in 60 yards on his five catches. The Packers’ offense was mostly ineffective, with Aaron Rodgers ($12,000; 12.2 DKFP) as the only double-digit scorer. He threw for just 140 yards, getting the majority of his DKFP on a 6-yard TD run.
