Buccaneers top Giants in a thrilling overtime Madden simulation — 4/2/20
After a relatively uneventful four quarters, the Giants kicked a late FG to put this game into OT tied at 10-10. However, the Bucs wasted no time in OT, as Jameis Winston ($10,000;16.58 DKFP) hit Mike Evans ($10,600; 24.1 DKFP) for a deep bomb to win the game, 16-10. Evans topped 100 yards on the play, which was his fifth catch of the game. Evans was the key ingredient in the Captain’s spot for the winning lineup, scoring 36.15 DKFP. Chris Godwin ($8,400; 15.2 DKFP) also had a solid game, bringing in a touchdown earlier in the game. The Giants’ offense was quiet, led by Evan Engram’s ($7,800; 11.8 DKFP) five receptions for 68 yards.
Jameis Winston makes no mistakes and leads Bucs past Panthers, 28-10 — 4/11/20
Winston ($10,000; 19.68 DKFP) has a reputation of being mistake-prone, but he was superb in Saturday’s Madden Stream. He piled up 262 yards passing, 12 more yards rushing with his two passing TDs. Not only did he avoid interceptions, but he also didn’t even throw an incompletion. Mike Evans ($10,800; 18.7 DKFP) had over 100 yards, and Winston’s two touchdowns went to O.J. Howard ($7,200; 17.1 DKFP) and Chris Godwin ($8,800; 8.6 DKFP). On the other side, Curtis Samuel ($6,200; 15.3 DKFP) had a nice game but the only touchdown was caught by Greg Olsen ($8,000; 9.5 DKFP). Howard was actually the Captain’s Pick in the winner’s unique lineup which also included Evans, Samuel, Winston and touchdown vulture Peyton Barber ($2,000; 5.9 DKFP).
Buccaneers outlast Jaguars in Madden simulation — 4/13/20
Even though Jameis Winston ($10,800; 19.1 DKFP) is technically now a free agent, we were able to re-unite he and Chris Godwin ($8,000; 20.5 DKFP) this afternoon in the glory of a Madden simulation. It went pretty much like it did throughout all of 2019 in Tampa Bay’s eventual 20-17 double-OT victory over Jacksonville. Though Godwin didn’t record a touchdown in the win, he was still the Buccaneers’ main offensive weapon, finishing the contest with six catches for an impressive 112 yards. Breshad Perriman ($3,600; 17.5 DKFP) was also highly effective, winding up with four receptions and 75 yards along with a trip to the end zone.
Buccaneers outlast Cardinals in Madden simulation — 4/17/20
We got another session of overtime football in today’s 5 p.m. Madden Stream, yet I’m sure people who rostered Jameis Winston ($10,800; 24.1 DKFP) didn’t mind that at all. The mercurial quarterback shook off the memories of a poor first half to lead Tampa Bay on a game-winning touchdown drive, with the Buccaneers taking this one by a final score of 30-24. It was Winston’s lone touchdown pass of the afternoon, but the pivot was still able to score on the ground and exceed 300 yards through the air. Mike Evans ($10,400; 27.5 DKFP) was on the receiving end of much of Winston’s success, as the wideout collected an impressive 10 catches for 144 yards. For Arizona, Damiere Byrd ($3,600; 33.1 DKFP) was the breakout star, hauling in a pair of TDs.
Buccaneers’ passing game comes up big again in Madden sim — 4/21/20
The Bucs might regret moving on from Winston ($10,400) if they have been paying attention to the Draftkings’ Madden simulations. He continues to light up opposing secondaries and led Tampa Bay to a 27-24 win over the Cowboys to open Tuesday’s slate. Winston had two passing touchdowns and added another one on the ground to finish with a game-high 25.75 DKFP. His primary receiver was Mike Evans ($10,000), who came just a yard shy of the 100-yard receiving bonus, but still finished with 22.9 DKFP. In a losing effort, Randall Cobb ($3,600) was the top value of the game. He had 16.2 DKFP and caught a touchdown pass.
Buccaneers earn a Madden sim victory over Rams — 4/23/20
Tampa didn’t accomplish all that much on offense, but the Buccaneers’ DST ($3,400; 16 DKFP) took care of business in the 24-21 victory, racking up four sacks and three interceptions, one of which was returned for a touchdown. The Rams were still the better plays on this showdown slate, though, putting together significantly more offensive production. Jared Goff ($10,000; 16.32 DKFP) still had almost 300 yards and two touchdowns despite the turnovers, hitting Cooper Kupp ($9,400; 23.3 DKFP) for a 9-80-1 line. Kupp was captained in the winning lineup, where he was just 4% owned for 35 DKFP. Todd Gurley ($7,400; 25.1 DKFP) had a vintage performance, rushing for 137 yards and a touchdown.
Bucs undefeated run stops here; Jets win, 24-9 — 4/26/20
Tampa Bay started the Madden simulations 6-0, but looked totally lost in their Sunday afternoon simulation against the Jets. New York cruised to a comfortable 24-9 win behind big games from Sam Darnold ($10,000; 28.24 DKFP), Robby Anderson ($9,200; 26 DKFP) and Le’Veon Bell ($9,000; 19.5 DKFP), who formed an unstoppable “Big Three” for Gang Green. Darnold threw three touchdowns and for over 300 yards while Anderson and Bell each hauled in a score and Anderson had over 100 yards. The Bucs got a decent game from O.J. Howard ($7,800; 19 DKFP), who had over 100 yards receiving, but couldn’t overcome Jameis Winston’s ($11,000; 14.56 DKFP) first bad performance. Winston failed to throw a touchdown and did throw an interception.
Buccaneers shutout Browns in Madden simulation — 4/30/20
What a strange game. Though it wasn’t surprising in the least to see Jameis Winston ($10,800; 21.2 DKFP) collect three total touchdowns in Tampa Bay’s win over Cleveland, the final score of this simulation sticks out like a sore thumb. Few teams have been shutout since DraftKings made the switch to Arcade Mode; yet, at the end of four quarters, the Browns had zero points. Most disappointing was the play of Odell Beckham ($9,600; 8.3 DKFP), who managed just three receptions in the 21-0 loss. Worst of all? All three of those catches came on Cleveland’s final drive in garbage time. The 38.7% of people that captained Beckham are probably not too happy right now.
Buccaneers’ defense unable to stop Drew Lock and the Broncos — 5/2/20
On paper, this looked like a game the Bucs would win. They have been one of the performing teams in the Madden simulations and were up against a mediocre Broncos’ team. The game didn’t go according to script as Lock ($10,000; 15.58 DKFP) was able to exploit Tampa Bay’s pass defense. He tossed touchdowns to Courtland Sutton ($9,800; 16.8 DKFP) and DaeShean Hamilton ($5,200; 16.7 DKFP) leading Denver to 31 points. Jameis Winston ($11,000; 14.88 DKFP) and the Bucs were unable to keep up although Breshad Perriman ($3,600; 19.9 DKFP) was the top performing fantasy player in the game.
Raiders earn comeback win over Bears in Madden sim — 5/5/20
Jameis Winston ($10,800; 22.12 DKFP) led the Bucs to a 28-24 win over the Bears Tuesday. Winston finished with 303 passing yards and two TDs, leading all Bucs in DKFP. In the surest sign that this was a simulation, and not a live 2019 game, OJ Howard ($6,800; 20 DKFP) was one of his top receiving options, catching seven passes for 70 yards and a TD and easily besting any of his fantasy outputs from last season. Breshad Perriman ($3,400; 21.8 DKFP) led Tampa pass-catchers with 98 yards and a TD of his own. The best DFS play for the Bears was Trey Burton ($7,800; 23.4 DKFP), who caught eight catches for 124 yards.
Paul Richardson single-handedly defeats Buccaneers in Madden sim — 5/7/20
Richardson ($5,600; 48 DKFP) put up one of the biggest performances we’ve seen in a sim and did so at an extremely affordable salary. Richardson posted a 7-200-3 line, scoring all three touchdowns in Washington’s 30-27 victory. Richardson was 5.8% owned as a captain, where his 72 DKFP carried the winning lineup with ease. Dwayne Haskins ($10,400; 29.24 DKFP) was obviously a strong play by default, passing for 356 yards along with his three scores to Richardson. Jameis Winston ($11,000; 23.64 DKFP) also surpassed the 300-yard mark, hitting Chris Godwin ($8,800; 12.4 DKFP) and Breshad Perriman (3,600; 18.8 DKFP) for touchdowns.
Jameis Winston sees the end zone clearly in 39-35 win over Bengals– 5/10/20
While we cannot confirm if Winston ($10,800) had Lasik surgery in the Madden simulation world, he certainly didn’t look like a man who had much trouble seeing Sunday afternoon. Scoring 39.2 DKFP and 58.8 as a captain, Winston threw for five touchdowns and 381 passing yards in this closely battled contest against the Bengals. Mike Evans ($10,200) grabbed two of those on his four receptions while coming up a yard short of hitting the 100 receiving yard bonus. The Bucs’ win takes away from another huge performance from Andy Dalton ($10,400), who scored 30 DKFP with 375 passing yards and three touchdowns of his own.
Bucs edge out Vikings 16-13 in Madden sim– 5/14/20
This Madden simulation was a rock fight, but ultimately won by Tampa Bay. Mike Evans ($9,600) led the way with four catches for 43 yards and a touchdown. He finished with 14.3 DKFP. Though the Vikings lost, it was Kyle Rudolph ($10,800 CPT) who was the winning captain. He just missed the 100-yard bonus, going for 99 yards on seven catches with a touchdown. He had 34.35 DKFP. The rest of the winning lineup featured Kirk Cousins ($10,800), Jameis Winston ($10,400), Dan Bailey ($3,800), and Matt Gay ($3,600). This lineup was a solo-winner.
Now and Prater: Lions’ kicker boots four FGs in win over Bucs– 5/16/20
The Lions knocked off the 10-win Bucs in Tampa Bay behind a big game from their kicker, Matt Prater ($4,200; 16 DKFP). Prater knocked in four FGs ,including one with just seconds left, to give Detroit the narrow 18-17 win. The Lions relied mostly on Danny Amendola ($5,000; 17.9 DKFP) as a receiver, and the slot option hauled in four catches for 79 yards and Detroit’s only touchdown of the day. For the Bucs, Jameis Winston ($10,600; 14.04 DKFP) also had just one passing touchdown and one interception while focusing mostly on O.J. Howard ($6,600; 29.5 DKFP), who was the Captain’s Pick in most of the lineups who finished in the money.
Patrick Mahomes powers the Chiefs past the Bucs in Madden sim with three TD passes– 5/20/20
Mahomes ($11,600; 23.68 DKFP) ended up short of the 300-yard bonus with 292 yards but his three touchdown tosses still got him well over 20 DKFP. Travis Kelce ($9,000; 21.1 DKFP) caught one of those scores and finished with 91 yards, but Sammy Watkins ($6,200; 20.5 DKFP) was the real star, hauling in the other two Kansas City scores. The Bucs struggled to get anything going and had to settle for a pair of Matt Gay ($3,800; 8.0 DKFP ) field goals. The Chiefs’ DST ($3,600; 13 DKFP) had six sacks in one of their best performances of the season.
Ronald Jones II breaks out as Bucs blast past the Dolphins– 5/22/20
Jones ($7,800; 29.5 DKFP) was only averaging 6.5 DKFP, but went off for a huge game against his cross-state rivals from Miami. The Bucs cruised to a 28-13 win behind his 145 rushing yards and two touchdowns. Jameis Winston ($10,800; 12.68 DKFP) threw two touchdowns, but only for 117 yards. One score went to Chris Godwin ($8,800; 14.6 DKFP) and O.J. Howard ($8,200; 9.4 DKFP) hauled in the other touchdown. In a losing effort for Miami, Mike Gesicki ($7,200; 17.3 DKFP) led the way while Kalen Ballage ($6,500; 8.2 DKFP) had the team’s touchdown.
Breshad Perriman wins game in OT after being held off the stat sheet in regulation– 5/25/20
Perriman ($5,000; 11.9) DKFP was one of the more popular plays in this contest, so the masses that rostered him could not have pleased with his zero catches at the end of the fourth quarter. Luckily, there was overtime and he was able to change the narrative. On the Bucs’ game-winning drive, Perriman caught his first two passes of the game, the second of which went for a touchdown and ended the game. In terms of fantasy production, the hero for fantasy contests was O.J. Howard ($7,200; 37.6 DKFP). The tight end hauled in eight catches for 146 yards and scored a pair of touchdowns. He wasn’t the only tight end to have a big game. In the loss, Saints’ tight end Jared Cook ($8,400; 18.8 DKFP) had a game-high 10 receptions.
Patriots come back late to beat Buccaneers in Madden simulation– 5/28/20
It’s hard to know which trends to trust in these Madden simulations. Certain players have performed better since the switch to eight-minute quarters, but it’s still difficult to tell what’s real and what’s a blip on the radar. Well, following tonight’s performance, I’m ready to believe in Julian Edelman ($9,800; 31.8 DKFP). After beginning these streams incredibly slowly, the veteran has been much improved as of late and Edelman again took center stage in New England’s 25-24 victory over Tampa Bay. The wideout caught the game-winning touchdown with six seconds left in the fourth, his 10th reception of the evening. It was also Tom Brady’s ($11,200; 30.6 DKFP) third TD, as the QB showed out with 341 passing yards.
Colts offense pulls up lame as Buccaneers run away to 34-13 win– 5/31/20
Mike Evans ($10,000; 22.8 DKFP) hadn’t found the end zone in five straight sims, but he hauled in a pair of touchdowns against the Colts, as Tampa Bay coasted to a 34-13 road win. Winston ($10,800; 22.82 DKFP) ended up throwing three scores to go with his 258 passing yards. T.Y. Hilton ($9,600; 17.6 DKFP) had a spectacular catch for the Colts’ first touchdown, but then Indy repeatedly stalled out until Jacoby Brissett ($10,200; 15.42 DKFP) hit Eric Ebron ($8,800; 12.1 DKFP) with a mostly meaningless touchdown late. There was also a bit of unexpected excitement when the Bucs faked a FG with never-before-used-in-a-sim backup QB Blaine Gabbert ($6,000) running in a touchdown.
Aaron Rodgers and the Packers achieve simulated victory — 6/2/20
Though they fell behind a bizarre 3-2 early, the Packers’ stormed back and made easy work of the Buccaneers in Tuesday’s simulated 28-10 win. Rodgers ($11,600; 21.36 DKFP) led the way with 234 yards and three TDs. Allen Lazard ($3,200; 17.3 DKFP) made efficient use of his only two catches, logging 33 yards and scoring on both. Mike Evans ($10,400; 14 DKFP) was the leading scorer for the Bucs, turning his six catches into 80 yards.
49ers beat Bucs 24-16 in Madden sim — 6/4/20
In this Madden simulation, San Francisco won a one-score game over Tampa Bay. Emmanuel Sanders (CPT; $14,100) led the way for the Niners, catching four balls for 136 yards and a touchdown. He scored 39.9 DKFP in the captain spot. For the Bucs, Chris Godwin ($8,200) did his best to snag the win, catching eight passes for 111 yards, good for 22.1 DKFP. The rest of the winning lineup contained Jimmy Garoppolo ($10,200), Tevin Coleman ($7,600), Kendrick Bourne ($4,600), and Robbie Gould ($4,000). Sanders was only owned at 3% in the captain spot, leading to a solo win.
Turnovers undo the Ravens against the Bucs– 6/6/20
This was not Lamar Jackson’s ($11,600; 15.42 DKFP) finest performance. He had the most ownership of any player in this game, but the Ravens were only able to muster 17 points, in part due to a pair of turnovers from Jackson. He was outplayed by Jameis Winston ($11,000; 21.86 DKFP), who had over 300 passing yards and a tossed a pair of touchdowns. Winston’s primary target was O.J. Howard ($6,200; 32.1 DKFP). Coming off a terrible fantasy season in real life, Howard has been one of the top tight ends in Madden. He added another big game to game log tonight, hauling in eight receptions for 151 yards.
