The NFL announced that teams can begin returning employees to club facilities on Tuesday, May 19th, but not all teams will be returning that day. The New York Giants and New York Jets will not be returning immediately because state regulations prevent it. On the other hand, the Denver Broncos will not be returning on Tuesday, not because of state regulations, but rather to implement necessary safety and sanitary measures at their training center and front office locations.
Team president and CEO Joe Ellis announced in a Saturday memo to staff that the facilities will reopen to employees the week of May 25th. Coaches and players are not yet allowed, and totals for other employees are limited. Per the NFL’s rules, teams can no more than 50 percent of staff in their facility, with the total not to exceed 75 people. Additionally, if they operate at multiple locations, the 75-person total applies in total, not per facility.
Coaches are not allowed back at one team’s facility until they are allowed at all 32 club facilities. Players are not allowed back until working conditions have been negotiated with the players’ union.
