The New England Patriots are officially moving on from kicker Stephen Gostkowski this offseason. The Patriots have elected to release Gostkowski, according to Patriots beat writer Jim McBride, after he spent most of the 2019 season on injured reserve with a hip injury. The Patriots save $3,487,500 against the salary cap with the move.

New England rotated between kickers after Gostkowski got hurt. They sent out Nick Folk, Mike Nugent, and Kai Forbath at different times in the season.

Gostkowski joins a market that includes Folk, Ryan Succup, Adam Vinatieri, and Greg Zuerlein. The 2020 NFL Draft includes Rodrigo Blankenship, Dominik Eberle, Tyler Bass, J.J. Molson, Cooper Rothe, Tucker McCann, and Matt Ammendola.
