Best remaining available skill position free agents

Free agency is still going and there are still offensive players who can help your team in 2020.

NFL free agency is still going despite players like Tom Brady and Amari Cooper secured by their new and old teams. Day 3 and on is a good time to grab those remaining free agents at a good price and is usually when the more successful teams start making moves.

Below, we’ll go through the remaining available players who could still make an impact in 2020.

Quarterback

  1. Cam Newton*
  2. Jameis Winston
  3. Andy Dalton*
  4. Joe Flacco
  5. Blake Bortles

Newton and Dalton aren’t free agents but are on the trade block and could become free agents if their teams can’t get anything for them in return, as the Panthers and Bengals are both moving on from their old quarterbacks.

Newton’s recent injury and injury history are holding teams back at the moment, as a healthy Newton is still a starting quarterback in this league. The coronavirus could also slow down his trade value, as teams can’t have him in to see where his health is. As soon as he can show he is healthy, a team will want him.

Right now it doesn’t look like Winston will have a starting gig in 2020 after throwing 30 interceptions last season. He may end up somewhere he can compete, like Las Vegas, but the Patriots don’t seem to be interested and Winston is too high profile to bring into a situation where the incumbent might resent him.

Running Back

  1. Devonta Freeman
  2. Carlos Hyde
  3. Jonathan Williams
  4. Lamar Miller
  5. C.J. Prosise
  6. Dion Lewis
  7. DeAndre Washington
  8. LeSean McCoy
  9. Peyton Barber
  10. Chris Thompson

There are some familiar names left in free agency at running back, but nobody a team can get too excited about. But, this group can still find homes across the league, but will likely need to prove themselves in training camp if they want to win a real role on offense.

Freeman showed he can still be a useful receiving back and Hyde and Williams have the ability to anchor a team in the trenches. Prosise is extremely risky, but his upside remains high if he can find some way to stay healthy, which he hasn’t been able to do at all. DeAndre Washington is a solid contributor and can help a team, but he’s not a lead back waiting for his chance.

Wide Receiver/Tight end

  1. Robby Anderson

  3. Nelson Agholor
  4. Phillip Dorsett
  5. Devin Funchess
  6. Delanie Walker
  7. Demarcus Robinson
  8. Tyler Eifert
  9. Travis Benjamin
  10. Taylor Gabriel
  11. Rashard Higgins

The market for Robby Anderson hasn’t been as good as I thought it would, so there is a chance he returns to the Jets, but I would love to see him move to a team with a better passing offense. Of all the players left, I like him the most.

Breshad Perriman was great to end last season but hasn’t found much of a market yet. He could end up returning to Tampa Bay but I’d like to see him land somewhere he can continue to get work, which Tampa Bay isn’t.

There is some talent left at receiver, so I expect all of these players to find starting jobs or close to it and be able to help a team in 2020.
