UPDATE: The Bucs announced it!
Quarterback Tom Brady has made it official: he has signed with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The team has not formally announced the news, but Brady posted to Instagram and Facebook, including a picture signing his contract and thanking the Bucs for giving him an opportunity.
Brady joins a Bucs squad that features a dynamic receiving duo in Mike Evans and Chris Godwin, which is arguably the best duo he’s had to date — at least based on their huge performances last season. There have been rumors players have told Brady and the Bucs they want to sign with the team in light of the signing. That will be something to track over the next couple weeks. The Bucs window with Brady is fairly limited, so they will likely go all in with some additional free agency help to maximize this chance.
Here’s the caption if you can’t see it.
“Excited, humble and hungry. If there is one thing I have learned about football, it’s that nobody cares what you did last year or the year before that. You earn the trust and respect of those around through your commitment every single day. I’m starting a new football journey and thankful for the Buccaneers for giving me an opportunity to do what I love to do. I look forward to meeting all my new teammates and coaches and proving to them that they can believe and trust in me. I have always believed that well done is better than well said, so I’m gonna not gonna say much more – I’m just gonna get to work!”
