The Las Vegas Raiders (6-5) will be trying to snap their two-game losing streak when they take on the winless New York Jets (0-11) Sunday afternoon at MetLife Stadium.
The Raiders are coming off of a horrendous 43-6 loss to the Atlanta Falcons. In a game, where Las Vegas’ offense should’ve dominated, it was actually the Falcons’ defense that gave Derek Carr and Co. trouble. Atlanta sacked Carr five times and forced him into an interception. They also forced five fumbles, in which three were credit to Carr and one to running back Josh Jacobs. Jacobs did not play much in this game, recording seven carries for 27 yards. The Raiders’ defense didn’t play bad last week against Atlanta but its tough to win when your offense puts you in bad spots.
As for the Jets, they continued on to tack on the losses as they are in line to have the first overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft. Last week, New York lost 20-3 at home to the Miami Dolphins. Third-year quarterback Sam Darnold did not play well as he was 16-of-27 for 197 yards and two interceptions. The Jets’ defense also did not do their job, as they allowed Dolphins wideout Devante Parker to rack up eight receptions (14 targets) for 119 yards.

Fantasy football start/sit advice
Raiders
Derek Carr, QB, $5,800
If there’s any player in the NFL, who could use a get right game, it is Derek Carr. Carr, who’s played relatively well this season, struggled in Week 12 against the Falcons. The veteran quarterback was constantly under distress and did not have a functioning running game behind him. Luckily enough, he’s going up against a Jets’ defense that is allowing 284 passing yards per game and 23.8 fantasy points per game to opposing quarterbacks. Despite last week’s performance, Carr is still a top-15 quarterback play in Week 13.
Henry Ruggs, WR, $4,500
Over the last few games, we’ve seen the Jets’ secondary struggle to cover Keenan Allen, DeVante Parker, and Jakobi Meyers. All three wide receivers had one of their best games this season against this woeful secondary. Ruggs could be next in line after racking up three receptions (five targets) for 56 yards. The first-round pick has only one touchdown and 100-yard game, which came against the Kansas City Chiefs in October ( 2 recs. for 118 yards). He can easily do this against the Jets, who are surrendering 2,189 receiving yards to opposing wideouts this season.
Jets
Denzel Mims, WR, $4,100
Rookie wideout Denzel Mims is starting to find himself a common fixture within the Jets’ passing game. Last week against the Dolphins, he had four receptions (eight targets) for 67 yards. In New York’s last three games, the former Baylor standout has been targeted on average, eight times. He’s also recorded at least 60 receiving yards over that same period of time. Mims, just like Ruggs, is a low-end FLEX/WR4 play but could make some plays against this Raiders’ secondary.
Breshad Perriman, WR, $3,900
Breshad Perriman has performed very well over the last three games for the New York Jets. The veteran wide receiver has 234 yards and three touchdowns over that span of time. Last week against Miami, he finished as the team’s leading wide receiver with four receptions (eight targets) for 79 yards. Perriman will be trying to blow the top off of a Raiders’ defense that gave up receiving touchdowns to wide receivers not named Julio Jones last week.
