We’ve been getting pretty lucky with NFL weather the last couple weeks and, crossing fingers, it looks like we’ll continue that streak.
We’ll go through the games that look to have the worst wind, cold and possible precipitation and also give you the games where we shouldn’t need to worry about weather, i.e., the games you can choose from in DFS without getting an ulcer. Helpful weather resources include National Weather Service and Dark Sky, among others.

Worst weather games
Las Vegas Raiders at New York Jets
The reason this game is under “bad weather games” is due to the complete lack of anything close to being bad weather. This matchup is the only one where the wind forecast is in the double-digits with 10-15 mph winds. Those numbers could go up as the forecast becomes clearer, and if gust head into the 20s, it will be something to watch out for. As far as the temperature, they are looking at low 40s in what should be just fine weather for your fantasy pieces in this matchup.
Better weather games
Cincinnati Bengals at Miami Dolphins
Whoever starts for the Dolphins this week will have sunny skies, wind under 10 mph and 70 degrees to throw the ball to Devante Parker over and over again (just a little plug for my team, thanks).
Indianapolis Colts at Houston Texans
The residents of Houston are enjoying their winter reprieve from intolerable humidity this weekend with highs in the low 60s and wind under 10 mph. Deshaun Watson will unfortunately get to see what life is like without DeAndre Hopkins AND Will Fuller. At least he’ll have nice weather.
Cleveland Browns at Tennessee Titans
Nashville will be playing some happy tunes this Sunday, as they will have sunny skies, no wind and mid 40s as they host the Browns. Cleveland won’t know what to do with all this good weather.
Detroit Lions at Chicago Bears
Chicago along the lake in December? No problem. This game won’t even be below freezing, as the game-time temperature should be in the high thirties with light winds coming from the west instead of off the lake. With sunny skies, the biggest problem might be too much sun in someone’s eyes on a deep pass.
Los Angeles Rams at Arizona Cardinals
This is Arizona, so it will be sunny, low 70s and no wind. Perfection.
New York Giants at Seattle Seahawks
Seattle is going to be humid, so there are always slight chances of rain, but it looks like they could even avoid a shower for this one. Highs in the low 50s and wind under 10 mph so far for their forecast.
New England Patriots at Los Angeles Chargers
It’s L.A. in December, so 70s, light wins and sunshine. The Patriots may have trouble dealing with all that good weather though.
Philadelphia Eagles at Green Bay Packers
Even Green Bay will have good weather. This will be one of the colder matchups, but the temperature will start above freezing and move toward freezing throughout the game. But no precipitation and light winds make this a delightful, shorts wearing day in the Bay.
Denver Broncos at Kansas City Chiefs
Patrick Mahomes will get virtually no wind to shoot his daggers through on Sunday night. No clouds and temperatures just above freezing.
Washington Football Team at Pittsburgh Steelers
Big Ben and company will host Alex Smith in a game with temperatures hovering around freezing, but with wind around 5 mph.
Buffalo Bills at San Francisco 49ers
The 49ers Monday night “home” game has been moved to State Farm Stadium in Arizona and it could fill more like home to the Bills, who played there just last week against the Cardinals. As for the weather, you guessed it, clear, low 70s and winds 5-10 mph.
Dallas Cowboys at Baltimore Ravens
Baltimore is following suit with the rest of the games, but since it is on Tuesday, there is still a chance for a drastic change in the forecast. But for now, it should be clear with 5 mph winds and temperatures in the mid 30’s.
