The Detroit Lions will have a new head coach for their Week 16 matchup with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Interim head coach Darrell Bevell was deemed a high-risk, close contact under the NFL’s COVID-19 protocols and will not be able to coach on Sunday. Wide receiver coach Robert Prince will serve as head coach and quarterbacks coach Sean Ryan will be the offensive play-caller, per Ian Rapoport.

Bevell initially took over as head coach in Week 13 after Matt Patricia was fired following a 4-7 start. Bevell won his first game, a 34-30 victory in Chicago. The Lions have lost the last two games, 31-24 at home against Green Bay and 46-25 at Tennessee.
