The Seattle Seahawks needed to go to Landover, Maryland and beat the Washington Football Team to clinch a playoff spot and they did just that. It wasn’t always pretty against a stout Washington defense, but they came out on top 20-15.

A couple of big runs by Russell Wilson and Carlos Hyde were keys to the game. Hyde’s ended up being the biggest, going 50 yards for a touchdown to put the Seahawks up 20-3 in the third quarter.

Dwayne Haskins and company battled back with two fourth quarter touchdowns, but a Carlos Dunlap sack forced a 4th and 24 that Haskins couldn’t convert. Dunlap, who the Seahawks acquired mid-season from the Bengals, has been making some key plays, as the Seattle defense has taken a big step forward in the second half of the season.

The Seahawks still have a chance to win the NFC West, but they’ll have to beat out the Rams, who they face next week in a huge game.
