Lions run trick play early vs. Texans to move into the red zone [VIDEO]

The Detroit Lions made some critical decisions on their opening drive that allowed them to get into the red zone and punch in the first score of the game. On 2nd and 4 at their own 32, the Lions ran a reverse that turned into a flea-flicker. Matthew Stafford found T.J. Hockenson wide open downfield for a 51-yard catch.

The play saw the Lions line up in a one-back set and Stafford hand off the ball to Kerryon Johnson. The running back pitched it to Jamal Agnew coming down for the reverse, and then Agnew pitched it back to Stafford. Hockenson got wide open thanks to the trickery and ran it down to the Texans 17-yard line. A defensive pass interference call set up the Lions at the Texans 2 and Adrian Peterson punched in the touchdown two plays later.
