Will Raiders-Chiefs play as scheduled in Week 5?

Positive Covid-19 tests following Week 4 are now putting the Chiefs Week 5 matchup with the Raiders in question.

Friday AM update: The Chiefs have no positives Friday morning, per multiple reports, so they can keep progressing toward their Sunday game with the Raiders.

Thursday AM update: The Raiders and Chiefs had no positive tests Thursday morning, per Tom Pelissero. They remain on track to play this Sunday.

So far, the Kansas City Chiefs haven’t had any new positive Covid-19 tests since practice squad quarterback Jordan Ta’amu had one last week, but they’ve now been exposed to a new positive test through the Patriots. On Monday night, they faced New England, who had at least one player, Stephon Gilmore, who tested positive the following day.

On the other side of this Week 5 matchup, the Raiders had a positive test, as defensive lineman Maurice Hurst was moved to the Covid-19 list on Tuesday, per ESPN’s Dianna Russini. This news comes after a few Raiders players were fined for taking part in a public event where they sometimes weren’t wearing masks.

Kansas City didn’t have any positive tests come out of their Tuesday morning testing, but they will need to have a multiple days of negative tests before they are out of the woods. We’ve seen the Titans, who have been isolating from each other for over a week now, still popping up with new positive tests.

As long as the Chiefs and the Raiders have no positive tests heading into this matchup, they will play this game, but they aren’t close to getting out of the woods yet. We will keep you updated as news comes in, and there will be plenty of updates coming.
